Offer #52 Tyler Stolsky 6'3/215 LB from MI Originally committed to Lehigh - has now decommitted. Offers from Army, Navy, Eastern Michigan, Minnesota (PWO), Michigan (PWO). Would love to have another LB from Michigan!!!
What gives me hope about this is, they clearly have money to sign kids, just not sure how many. You don't get a kid like this without a full ride.

Stolsky has a 3.81 GPA. First string all state at Portage Central HS. Portage is near Kalamazoo. We have 3 Michiganders in our starting 22 this year. Hope that Tyler will commit in the early signing period and add another one to the roster.

/\ I was going to guess near Northern Arizona University which might explain his recent choice but I have no idea.

5-6 Northern Arizona ranked 51 by Massey. Could this actually be the case of HC becoming too good for this kid to realistically play? Just saying!

Just guessing that Northern Arizona might not be as academically challenging as Holy Cross. While we'd like to think that student-athletes are looking for the best education they can get (i.e. why some might choose Harvard over Holy Cross or BC or Penn State), not every student wants the twin challenge of athletics and academics at the same time. Who knows the reason for the de-commit besides family, friends and probably HC staff, and maybe it's all because Arizona is closer to home where his family can watch him play without cross country travel like the Ng's do to watch Derrick. We all know he's making a mistake ( ) but he doesn't, so good luck young man!

It could also be that he sees that HC does not often throw to its tight ends I’m highly confident that Jacob Pedersen is going to become a part of our passing game in seasons to come. Great size and athleticism for a Frosh. Just wait for a couple years with Grautski…

It could also be that he sees that HC does not often throw to its tight ends That's true! When was the last TD to a TE? Nikolaison from Wade? I always loved a little PA along the goal line from a jumbo or I-form and a nice pass to the TE running a short route across the line. Like a PA waggle or PA power with the option of throwing it to the rb. Can also use the TE as a slot receiver from the shotgun spread like the Chiefs use Kelce.

Great size and athleticism for a Frosh. Just wait for a couple years with Grauski… Hopefully so--I've just been surprised by how few passes Sean Morris has caught after coming in so highly ranked. I'm not criticizing him--he may be doing a great job blocking. Our tight ends used to catch more passes--maybe Schneider and Mountain were just so talented that we had to use them more We have had one TE TD reception this year by Cullen Honahan--was that the Derek Ng pass?

Given the extremely small size of this year’s recruiting class at the moment, coupled with the smaller class last year, I have to think that the coaches view the freshmen and sophomores currently on he team as being part of the talent pipeline moving forward the next 3-4 years with many holding a 5th year of eligibility. In my opinion, there is a lot of talent in the sophomore and junior classes already on the roster that has yet to be tapped with much playing time so far and the coaching staff is probably well aware of that fact.

Certainly even Gronk would have wasted his college career here as a TE. Crossports posters have been saying for years to throw to the TEs but falls on deaf ears.

Last year's class wasn't terribly small at the end of the day. About 18-19 kids I believe. Yes, relative to a 90 man roster with an average class size of 22.5, it's slightly smaller, but not in a huge way. Larger issue will be 3 years down the road when this class will be Juniors. It will leave a gaping hole because HC doesn't refill through the transfer portal which others schools could do in 2 years time when a lot of money opens up in scholarships that is being spent now on Super Seniors.

If I’m thinking about this right, next year should be great because we will have a ton of our scholarship money in 4th and 5th year seniors. The following year, we will have a ton of our scholarship budget in Frosh unless we elect to use some of it on transfers. That may not be as good. Hopefully we land a few good FBS transfers to balance the classes and give us some more experienced talent for the 2023 season.

After a great season the focus now is squarely on recruiting in the next 11 days. Signing day on 12/15.
4 current verbals. I think spect this class to be 13 large if they have their roster at 90 players. If they sign more than that it would lead me to believe a few players would leave the program.

Starting next year do the rosters go back to the 90 player max.? I thought that this year there was an allowance for rosters over 90 due to the COVID year. If they go back to 90, there will obviously need to be consideration given to that fact when filling out the roster.
