nypost.com/2021/05/15/marv-albert-is-so-much-more-than-a-broadcasting-icon/In addition to his national and Knick work, he did most of the ECAC Game of the Week Saturday telecasts (must watch for a college hoop fan in the era of few TV games), in particular with R.C. "Bucky" Waters and many others. One HC game I remember in particular was the BC/HC Game at the Hart Center; what one might now refer to as the "Henry Hill" game.

For college hoops he was "the" broadcaster for many years. I was at the "Henryv Hill" game - with a track recruit.

Well, Marv is short for Marvin. I know he had a very different birth name, but it is one I can't recall (other than it started with an "A").

Marv Albert (born Marvin Philip Aufrichtig; June 12, 1941). en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marv_AlbertI was also at that infamous game. The ruckus mid court certainly made it memorable. Wonder how many Crossporters attended?

I was at the game. After the game Albert and Waters left campus in a WPD patrol car and we had fun suggesting to them that they'd been arrested. I don't know why I can remember such obscure details for long-ago events.

For those who saw that HC victory, no detail is too obscure to be worth remembering.

Before cheating, you could have allowed some people to guess. Bonus 2 What was his first sports position ?

Anybody have footage of that game besides the ESPN special they did on the BC point shaving scandal?

Marv Albert (born Marvin Philip Aufrichtig; June 12, 1941). What was his first sports position ? I believe he was always sportscaster/commentator all the way back to his undergraduate days. Was it announcing for one of the Syracuse University teams? Before that he may have delivered groceries for his dad's store.

One great Marv moment was during a Knick playoff (had to be a while ago, that's for sure) game.
The camera was panning the VIP seats for celebrities and Marv would make note of each person the camera found.
Then, the camera focused on Woody Allen and his then-new bride (or soon-to-be bride); which, of course, was causing a furor.
Marv said nothing, which was a real shame. Nothing to do with the incident; I just wanted so badly to hear him say "Soon Yi" as only Marv could have said that.

The great Marty Glickman("Swish") was his mentor according to a New Rochelle friend who knew Mr. Glickman. Listened to Marv on Knicks radio broadcasts in the late '60's. The game against Cincinnati in which the Knicks came back from a huge a deficit in the final minutes to win the game stands out. His call of that game, the excitement was amazing as were the Knicks on that night. Wish him a long, fulfilling retirement.

What would your Theology prof say ? If someone could just guess that correct answer, he would be better than The Amazing Kreskin.

What would your Theology prof say ? Freshmen year for Old Testament, he allowed us to use the Bible to cite our essays for the mid term and the final. That particular Old Testament class was taught from an Archeological standpoint. Using the Bible was not considered cheating for that course. 😊

For some people Wiki is the modern Bible. 😃 And probably just as unreliable as far as the literal truth goes.

A comparison of the book that provides a basis for my faith with something as wildly imprecise as Wiki (in which I have little faith) is a bit of a stretch.
