www.hockeyjournal.com/associate-head-coach-paul-pearl-out-at-boston-university/Paul Pearl (Winthrop, Mass.) had been the top assistant for the BU Terriers for three seasons. (Getty Images) Associate head coach Paul Pearl won’t be back for a fourth season at Boston University, as I first reported on Twitter Thursday night. Pearl, 54, has been the top assistant for the Terriers during Albie O’Connell’s entire tenure as head coach. The Winthrop, Mass., native and Holy Cross alum came to BU after serving in a similar post at Harvard for four seasons. Pearl was the head coach at his alma mater for 19 seasons before leaving the Crusaders to join Ted Donato’s staff at Harvard. Pearl’s ouster from the BU staff had been rumored for a few weeks. Assistant coach Lenny Quesnelle remains on O’Connell’s staff.

If the door was open, maybe he should have returned to the Hart Center several weeks ago.
A 3,000 to 4,000 seat on campus rink, to meet the previous Hockey East requirement, is not feasible or practical at this time for HC. If that was the issue, it is time to reevaluate.
UConn, with an undergraduate population of 18,847, and 4,400 acres of land, is not building a new 4,000 seat on campus rink.

UConn’s new hockey arena will have a capacity of only 2700 according to what I have seen and it has many of their boosters none too happy. They’ll be looking for an OK from hockey East to play some league games in Storrs with others at the XL (similar to their basketball programs)

Well, Holy Cross fudges numbers too. The Colgate football game in 2019 had nowhere near 10k people they put out a number closer to 11k.

Can we somehow get Pearl back?

My guess is one or both parties was not interested in a return of Coach Pearl to HC.
I'd have to also guess that 5-6 weeks ago he knew to be looking for a new job. If not, there's a special place in hell for BU letting him go now when there's few if any coaching jobs.

I saw on Twitter.com that Paul Pearl is the new head coach at Cushing Academy Likely just a holdover gig for a few years until he gets another college job...
