I was on campus yesterday... pretty clear why no PCPA windows face west... the major visual would the Hogan Parking lot Disappoints all those here who think staring at a parking lot on a computer screen is a great way to spend a day.

I was on campus yesterday... pretty clear why no PCPA windows face west... the major visual would the Hogan Parking lot But there are PCPA windows that face west, big windows right above the main entrance. These particular windows require the director of the Cantor art Gallery to be creative, so that light entering through those windows, and also down from the big skylight above the center of the 'beehive', does not damage the artwork. The Gallery overlooks the Hogan lot. The only quadrant of the PCPA that has no windows is the concert hall, and if there were windows, these would face south, and overlook the Luth parking lot.

From your posts it looks like you are are puzzled by the many Parking Lot aficionados as I am by the fans of soccer and automobile racing

This appears to be the rendering depicting a view of the PCPA's main entry from the front of Hogan looking east, although the setting sun seems to be misplaced. Concur that the south facing/Luth side has no windows www.holycross.edu/arts-culture/venues-and-facilities/prior-center-performing-arts

That's a screen inside the windows to protect the art work from UV rays. The art work would be installed on the other side of the screen. The gallery could install its bronzes and stone sculptures in the area next to those windows without any worries, Paper, canvas, and cloth are the materials one would be most concerned about re: degradation.

I erred in positing that the landscaping would wait until early September. The first tree, of fair size, has been planted in an island on the east side of the lot. Fair to say that the landscaping will be done before August ends. The abundant rain has certainly helped, there's less stress on the trees and large shrubs.

Former HC running back Eddie Jenkins '72 was a member of the Miami Dolphins team which was the last one to complete an undefeated NFL season. Several years ago, possibly during the 2007 season when the Pats threatened to duplicate the feat, there was a nice article on Eddie in the newspaper, probably the Boston Globe. He was interviewed in his office in Boston and he had a photo of the '72 Dolphins on the wall with autographs as I recall. However, the photo had been faded by the sun, which is obviously very powerful.

Am told that the Hogan Parking Lot webcam had a hardware failure probably due to a lightning strike. A new camera has been ordered! Am told that the new webcam was ordered but unfortunately not in stock. Expected arrival/delivery is early to mid September!

Well, really, who cares? Who wastes their time watching these things? We have too many other important things to do - like posting on Crossports with our invaluable opinions.

China's third biggest port closes for two weeks. Delayed like the Daktronics videoboards for the Hart.. But all that aside, thanks for the follow up HCFC45.

Just as a change of pace about the Blossom departure and to give ACTP something to talk about, it appears that they have completed pouring the concrete to what I assume is the west entrance to the PPAC (I'm sticking with those initials rather than Phreek's which I acknowledge is now more accurate).
That said, the corner roof facade is taking so long you have to think this is costing an arm and a leg and, really, it didn't take much longer to build the entire Empire State Building. It's borderline ridiculous to have such a complicated design.

Since there’s been a webcam for about a month now, does anyone have a pic of the parking lot and the entrance to the third floor of Hogan ?

It appears the PCPA webcam has crashed. Not transmitting imagery, though from the looks of it, the webcam is on-line and connected to the network server.
Maybe the brief shower this morning did it in.

Still blacked out. This must be the week that they're burying the Jesuit gold, etc.

Thanks for the photo. Although I like the boldness and appreciate the beauty of the PCPA structure, I must admit its appearance has a Rube Goldberg look to it..
