I had the good fortune of engaging Quentin Liggins '10 during the spring of his senior year at Holy Cross. I could tell shortly after our initial talks that this Crusader was and is a very special individual. After Holy Cross, he went to work at Goldman Sachs for two years. His career was incredibly bright. He chose a different path and took a different journey, though, in transitioning his career into the field of education by working initially at City Year in Washington DC and then moving on into various leadership positions. Quentin chose a life of service in helping others. He currently works in a leadership role in the Tulsa Oklahoma Public School system.
I have not spoken to him in over 5 years but I know I could pick up with him now as if we just spoke last week. He is a Crusader and he is part of the Crusader Football Family.
Very unfortunately Quentin was recently diagnosed with a rare brain cancer known as glioblastoma. He needs our help. Let's help our brother.
Rather than my writing further, please read about Quentin in his own very touching and moving words and his request for our help and support: www.quentinstestimony.com/
To make a donation to offset the significant medical expenses he faces, here is a link to a tax-exempt donation through his church: www.shelbygiving.com/App/Giving/metr1228154
If you are in a position to help Quentin and his wife and young daughter, I thank you on his behalf and that of his family. Whether you can or might help Quentin or not, please keep him and his family in your prayers.
Thank you.

Also have his doctor reach out to Chimerix as they have an interesting compound in Phase 2, that might be helpful. In an effort to start and slow down, I stepped down from the board last week. I am, however, more than happy to connect him to NCI, Chimerix and a few others doing research for that disease. My donation will go out ASAP.

Just to set the record straight, it would appear that Quentin is Class of 2010, not '09, not that it makes much difference.

Thank you for sharing. Let us know how else we might be able to help. I'm sure he's well connected via Goldman, but if I can do anything with my contacts on the Street, would be happy to.

I have contacted a number of friends and provided them with Quentin’s story. Hopefully there will be a organizing campaign with publicity to the entire HC community and beyond to provide assistance to his family.

td, I have shared the information about Quentin with my classmates and one of them brought to my attention that the link for making a donation no longer shows Quentin's charity. I double-checked myself.
Do you have any insights as to how others can make a donation now?
Thanks!!

I double-checked myself. Do you have any insights as to how others can make a donation now? Thanks!! I just tried 2 different links including the one td posted initially and the one that Q posted and both work! Donate to Benevolent Health Care in the drop down link! Check it again...

The original link had a specific one for Quentin which is no longer there. I did see the one you referenced but it seems more generic than the one I contributed to.

I am very sorry that one of our own, Quentin Liggins, has to face this awful diagnosis, but I am happy that through his medical coverage, and connections with Goldman, Holy Cross and his Baptist church congregation, he and his family will likely not be made destitute. This rallying of support brings to mind for me, the millions of others who will not be so fortunate, and it serves as a reminder that we Americans have much work to do in order to engender a compassionate and equitable medical care system that does not bankrupt people in a medical crisis at the time of their greatest need.

I understand that and as 45 and I discussed, when I donated they had a specific donation link and I received confirmation for "QLiggins Care" which is much more specific than the more generic one you all are referencing.
