PVR's message on the Feast of St. Ignatius was beautifully done. Not sure what the problem with mentioning "structural racism" is. Fr. B used to mention it, Fr. M. used to mention it, Fr. Brooks used to mention it. Just read a ten page insert from USA Today Network that was in the Worcester Telegram on 11-14-21 detailing the civil rights protests of 1961. Weldon Rougeau was referenced several times in an article about Southern University students protesting the jailing of civil rights activists in Louisiana. It appears he and 8 other students were expelled from Southern by the all white Board of Education, for their role in the protests. Weldon Rougeau was arrested for trespassing on campus following his expulsion and charged with attempting to overthrow the state government. He and a fellow Southern student were held in solitary confinement for more than 50 days. Sounds like our President’s father definitely walked the walk.

I've heard that story, not that detailed, but that his father got expelled but being of a certain age, I forget where I heard Vince tell that story. Might have been at his inauguration. It stinks getting old(er).
