Several months ago, there was a spirited discussion regarding the delivery of equipment for the HC Women’s Lacrosse Team. crossports.freeforums.net/thread/6228/women-lax-equipmentWhile perusing media other then Crossports, I saw that LaSalle has now changed their apparel supplier from Under Armour to Adidas. Unfortunately for LaSalle, their new contract appears to be a step backwards regarding equipment and apparel that will be supplied to their program. The Adidas parent company will be the supplier for M/W Basketball, with a third party, ASB Sports, being the supplier for their other teams. It appears that Adidas has determined limited value in their sponsorship of only two sports with LaSalle, even though they are an A10 program. Most recently, La Salle said it plans to cut back its athletic teams from 25 to 18 after the current academic year, dropping baseball, men's swimming and diving, men's tennis, men's water polo, softball, volleyball, and women's tennis. explorertown.proboards.com/thread/3864/la-salle-adidas-sbjwww.bizjournals.com/philadelphia/news/2021/02/07/la-salles-college-athletics-apparel-adidas.html?ana=TRUEANTHEMTWT_PL&csrc=6398&taid=602151ffa9a0b100015cae54&utm_campaign=trueAnthem%3A+Trending+Content&utm_medium=trueAnthem&utm_source=twitterIt will be of interest to a number of non P5 programs, if the days of direct sponsorship with funds paid directly to the Athletic Departments many change with NLI agreements now being enacted with individual athletes. Stay tuned....

That's because New Balance doesn't have any football-related product lines, not because adidas wasn't interested in the other sports. BC signed w/New Balance first.
Significant changes coming in this area, you are right; especially w/regard to footwear, I would imagine; just like the NBA.

So not sure what happened with them.

And the thing is, New Balance isn't well liked by the current college basketball players...they all want to go to a Nike school to wear Jordans. Very weird to me.

Try Nike sneakers for basketball versus NB. That's one reason. Also, Jordan and Nike branding have a "cool" factor that NB doesn't approach either.

Well, we had both Nike one year and NB the next when I worked for UNH Hoops. But that was 20 years ago now....

Well, we had both Nike one year and NB the next when I worked for UNH Hoops. But that was 20 years ago now.... My dad is a NB fanatic because of 4E-wide feet; most Nike shoes wouldn't fit on him. I'm no pro, but Nike Hyperaggressors for basketball might be the best shoe I've ever wore playing any sport. I haven't played pickup basketball in a few years and I still have an unopened pair on standby because I was afraid I'd never have a pair that I enjoyed so much after playing for about 25 years.
I have quite a few sneakers, probably a guilty habit for ol' WCHC.

WCHC, New Balance has made great strides in basketball recently. They were out of the basketball market for a few years but reentered the market in 2019. Their new basketball shoes are very good. You should try them. Currently, Dejounte Murray, Darius Bazley and some guy named Kawhi Leonard are donning New Balance. Leornard appears to be doing ok wearing New Balance.

Tim, regarding New Balance not making their uniforms, that is standard practice in the athletics apparel business. Nobody on the Nike or Adidas payroll is actually sewing uniforms. The unis are designed by Nike, Adidas and New Balance and the actual manufacturing is contracted out to vendors in China, Vietnam and Indonesia.....those are the folks who actually make the unis.

I just can't believe people worry so much what the pros are wearing for their own game at the Y!

And I can’t believe there are already more than 10 posts on uniform and basketball shoes but it is a sports board and whatever floats your boat.

Younger generation seem to covet Steph Curry's shoes, a coup for Under Armour. It's big business for the colleges and pros, but far more average joes and their kids are the revenue streams.
