Had to take an alternate route on my way into Worcester yesterday due to flooding on Route 146 North and noticed the scaffolding/staging underneath the closed end of Fitton Field. Maybe our resident engineer PP can shed some light on the situation.... Attachment Deleted

I'm guessing they found some maintenance issue they needed to address. Given recent events; perhaps the school is on top of things like that.

Looks like I-beams on top of scaffolding so guessing a support issue.

Never understood why when they rebuilt the place they didn't make the end zone the same height as the new stands. Just have the stands parallel to the sidelines on the home side a little higher. More structure to maintain and little benefit.

Wondering while the scaffolding is up for inspection, they are repainting the steel. Remembering from the last game I attended, the game that clinched the championship in 2019, it seemed that it is now needed.

I think it is some structural replacement or reinforcement in the southeast corner, 8-10 rows down from the top. There are small steel beams at the top of the scaffolding being used to brace. No sign of a lift or hoist There may be new electrical cable being strung along the bottom of one of the beams.
I also wonder if they might be cutting an opening, perhaps for a large clock.

The equivalent of the scoreboard they just removed at the other end would not be a bad thing at all. No video or that sort of thing, just basic info.

I don't know about a whole scoreboard, but a play clock and a game clock would be nice. goo.gl/maps/TnB9zrhMqAVJAX847This image from Sept. 2019 shows a rusted stringer in this area.
