Harvard's 2021 roster is up, I counted 16 seniors, where typically there would be 25-30.
I don't believe Harvard allows you to withdraw for your senior year, so the rising seniors for the 2020 season are gone. And it appears that many rising juniors simply stopped playing football. They could continue matriculating at Harvard and receive the same amount of fin aid that they received as a player. If a rising junior (for 2020-21) withdrew for fall semester 2020, I believe that could give them a fifth year of eligibility.; i.e., fall of 2022. The key words may be 'young' and 'inexperienced'.

Massey makes no attempt to look at injuries, returning starters, players who have left the program, incoming freshman, transfers, etc. For the preseason rankings it merely looks at a weighted average for the last few seasons, with a bit of consideration of trend. Massey himself says that his early-season rankings mean very little. |

I do think it is definitely to our advantage this year v Ivies that we played football this past spring.
I don’t know if various IL schools are delaying practice or still following some internal Covid rules that might further set them back in their football OOC. I’d feel just awful if they were. 😀

They would have been juniors in 2020 but apparently took off the season, so that they are still juniors this year - instead of being seniors, as they would have been without the covid shutdown. |

It's hard to quantify the advantage, but HC also practiced and drilled longer last Spring, and with the type of purpose and concentration that is hard to duplicate if you aren't preparing for a league championship game and then SDSU or some other behemoth in the NCAA playoffs, than most of it's upcoming opponents. |

So basically, many of the sophs and juniors took a year off. Probably not so for the freshmen, because Harvard had first years on-campus (other than those who took a gap year). www.thecrimson.com/article/2020/8/7/harvard-coronavirus-fall-enrollment-numbers/My nephew withdrew for a semester at Harvard because of a sport injury, and participated in the commencement of his entering class, but received no diploma. He returned the next year for the additional semester, and IIRC, Harvard considered him to be a member of the following year class, because that's when his degree was actually awarded. His LinkedIn profile lists both years. Georgetown has not yet posted its 2021 roster, it will be interesting to see how the classes line up. |

Thank goodness we don't have any whining about obstacles and bad decisions at Holy Cross. At least not on Crossports, once you get past Big East, Hockey East, Admissions, and a few other subjects that is!

Rolland is an undergraduate, and apparently played only one year at Harvard. The tweet mentions another Harvard lineman who, this year, first transferred to Auburn, but subsequently switched to PSU. But he was a grad transfer.

Maybe he should just study and work out this upcoming school year at Harvard so that he shows up healthy for his two-year schollie at Penn State. Since he’s not on an athletic schollie now he is free to do so. I’m just looking out for his best interests. 🙂 |

Have to agree, hcpride. Doesn't he realize PSU is not Hahvahd and the free school offer from them is most likely off the table if he gets dinged up?
Let's see if he actually plays and how much.
