He's #7 in the class of 2023 according to ESPN.
#1 in the class is D.J. Wagner of Camden NJ, grandson of Milt Wagner (NCAA Champ as U of L star and NBA Champion as Laker reserve) and son of Dajuan Wagner (huge star for one year at U of Memphis before jumping to a health-shortened NBA career at age 19).

Emoni Bates is "coming out" of high school. Has a year left. We'll see if Michigan State or another college makes an offer that beats or exceeds the G League or the academy. As he's a local celebrity, that's certainly possible.

Two other possibilities. 1- He and Jalen Duren(ranked #1-2) go to Memphis. Duren is supposed to decide tomorrow. 2- Oregon could result in a bunch of Nike dollars

Yes, we want to ensure that these student-athletes are treated fairly...............

These transactions make an even bigger joke of the academic qualifications of this level of basketball talent entering college. Didn't think that was possible.

Of course, all of us would have turned down the big bucks, mere millions, for the opportunity to go to college. And, TBT how could one refuse some of the schools which offer phantom classes, baked in grades, separate luxury living with wine, women & song. Every year I become more & more proud of the integrity of HC and its true student-athletes.I'm also filled with admiration for other high quality fine academic institutions such as the PL & IL. HC never loses!

per tim's post, just when i thought "college" basketball could not become more of a farce... this happens.
what a joke. i support these kinds of star players going straight to the pros and saving the charade of being a student-athlete for a few months.

Here's a question: If someone plays for College A first semester, are they eligible second semester at College B? Or does the transfer rule at least state you can't play for two teams in the same season?

Or does the transfer rule at least state you can't play for two teams in the same season? This reminds me of the MLB player who got a hit for Team A in a day game and got traded to team B and got a hit for that team in a night game the same day. Maybe we'll see college players going mid-season as you ask about.

Another way for the rich (power 5 schools) to get richer by bypassing the scholarship limits? Of course, playing time; or lack thereof, factors in at some point.

"Deals can't be inducement to attend a particular school, and school can't put it together." Whoever put this in has a rich sense of fantasy (and probably believes in Santa and the Easter Bunny).

"Deals can't be inducement to attend a particular school, and school can't put it together." Whoever put this in has a rich sense of fantasy (and probably believes in Santa and the Easter Bunny). The same sport where the opening minutes of the free agent signing period produces several agreements. But, of course, the clubs can't talk to the player and/or agent before that. Right.
