Interesting opener- Hartford. Probably all seniors and some walk ons. What competent player not due to graduate would hang around for that sh*tt show?

We have opened against UHart a number of times in recent years. I will likely go to this game. Like timholycross, I am interested in seeing what the Hawks will have left. I just looked at their 2020 roster. They had 12 international players (inc. Israel, Sweden, Canada) and six Connecticut kids. It is an odd mix.

Interesting Hartford went to D-3 instead of the strong Northeast-10 in D-2. It's like pulling the band-aid off in one quick motion as you get rid of all athletic scholarships and can really cut to the bone if you need to,

Yes, the reason I mentioned Nate was because of Simon. It appears from his Twitter, that Nate will still be playing for UHart this upcoming season.

UHA's athletics web site still says that fans of visiting teams are not allowed. I called the athletics dept. to confirm if that was really the case but I just got a voicemail message.

I called every number I could find for people in the UHart Athletic Dept and not one person answered the phone. I suspect they won’t be paying for security to keep fans away from the games.

Dropping down 2 divisions and getting clobbered in the interim is a great way to keep fans away; Covid or no Covid.

Someone actually replied to a tweet from their women’s soccer account about their home opener asking if fans would be allowed. No response. Pretty sure they’re all checked out.

The North Entrance gate shall be closed. The Mark Twain Drive gate shall be closed, other than between the hours of 6–9:30 a.m. and 2:30–6 p.m. for employees.

He recruited Matt Barnes and George Springer to UConn and had a first round arm at Hartford a few years ago that has had a cup of coffee in the majors.

Sounds like the same system as the Bucknell method of fan selection...their fans and only their fans.

Sounds like at least some fans will be allowed: 1-1 in double OT. HC’s first non-loss (all sports) of the season.

Three things I noticed from the box score:
1. HC’s lone goal was scored by Frosh Evan Jones from West Hartford, CT. 2. HC got 4 yellows and a red. 3. HC goalie Jimmy Joyce was subbed out with three minutes left in the game, which seemingly had to be an injury. Hope he’s okay.
