Three things I noticed from the box score: 1. HC’s lone goal was scored by Frosh Evan Jones from West Hartford, CT. 2. HC got 4 yellows and a red. 3. HC goalie Jimmy Joyce was subbed out with three minutes left in the game, which seemingly had to be an injury. Hope he’s okay. This was a good effort in terribly hot conditions. Evan Jones was a great get for the coaching staff. I hope he's happy at HC.

The game writeup on the UHart website says that the HC goalie received a red card for handling the ball outside the box. The box score says that HC player Stefani, who is a goalie, received the red. The box score also says that HC starting goalie Joyce played 107 minutes and that Stefani played the other two plus minutes. The HC write up doesn't mention that we were playing a man down ever. I watched the last ten minutes of OT and we were clearly a man down. They didn't mention a substitution at goalie in the last couple of minutes. HC has the box score UHart provided posted on its site. I am confused but we aparently played a man down for more than an hour of soccer and didn't give up a goal (after the free kick which came from the red card) so a draw here is quite an accomplishment. EDIT: I think I figured it out. Joyce started and played the first half. Stefani came in at the start of the second half and promptly picked up the red. Joyce returned.

1-1 in double OT. HC’s first non-loss (all sports) of the season. All sports ?? How many sports have played ? WSOC is 0-2 (My post was a bit snarky, because I thought that at least one other team had also played and lost. Three Hail Marys and two Our Fathers for me.)

Thanks for doing the digging on that, alum. The fact that HC played more than half the game down a man is important context and makes the draw seem more impressive than without that context. Interesting that the freshman keeper was given an opportunity to play in game one. Might be a while before that opportunity comes again depending on the circumstances of his red card.

I've never been to an HC soccer game (that might change this year) but I've assumed they don't have an admission charge. I'm going to be in NH later in Sept. and one of my sons asked if I wanted to go to a Dartmouth soccer game. I was surprised to see that they charge $10. This isn't a huge amount, but it made me wonder whether other PL and Ivy schools charge admission to soccer games.

Brown is 5-7 dollars Columbia, Cornelll, Princeton, Penn, Harvard and Yale don't show soccer tickets as a ticketed event

Can't remember the last time I had back-to-back games (actually scrimmages) where the heat was so overwhelming. Both games on turf, which is a few degrees hotter too.

Kudos to Marcus Blossom. Now when the men’s and women’s basketball teams win the PL championship this season we’ll know why Creighton stole him from us!
