Speaking of walk-ons, I wonder if the NCAA would grant our baton twirler an extra year of eligibility? She was great.

It's good to see that most of the DL's put on 10-20 lbs. I think they're going to dominate the PL. Interesting that 6'6" Mcmurtry dropped almost 10 lbs down to 288. Usually it's the other way around unless it's someone well over 300 lbs. Yea, Pat jumped out to me as well (also Brekke dropped ~10 lbs) but his frame and interior position at 6’3 is different. The tough thing with this is we really don’t know when the last official weights were taken (sometime in 2019?) and same with these (before camp or after). We also don’t know what most of their playing weights were in the spring. Sometimes for taller guys, you tend to lose 5-7 lbs during camp (at least back during two a days). Pat at 6’5/6’6 and ~290 still seems like a good ratio for him.

a w/o? now 2 yrs later... 14 lbs & '1 bigger; maybe on special teams Logically a walk on. Great depth with a kid who obviously wants to be there. Welcome back to New England. Does the PL let teams have as many walk-ons as they want? I think the PL sets a limit for the number of players a team can have on its roster. I guess you could have as many walkons as you want as long as you stay within the roster limit for players-full schollie, partial, walkons combined

Roster limit is 90, but I believe those who invoked a 5th year under COVID rules do not count against the cap.

Any idea who was voted Captains for this year's team? We might not find that out until the coin toss on Saturday afternoon.

Preferred walk on is not offered a scholarship, but is offered a spot on the team roster. A “regular” walk on is essentially offered nothing and has to earn a spot on the roster.

It will be interesting to see the line play between HC and UConn on Saturday. In the pre-season Randy Edsall made a big deal out of the Huskies' fortuitous 637 day layoff that allowed his young team to get older, bigger and stronger. He didn't dwell on that theme after the Fresno State game.
