1) Streaming is not broadcasting over the air. However I realize that distinction had gone by the way of the Dodo bird in practice.
2) I love ESPN+. I got it for Holy Cross games and keep it year round for the UFC. However, I was under the impression it started at $4.99/mo. and I was now paying $5.99/mo, not $6.99. I'll have to check it, but used cars are up 43% and rental cars are up 73% since pre-pandemic so that is to be expected.
3) It's disappointing that the Woo Sox radio broadcasts, which include home and away games all season long and have strong advertising support can't segway into presenting eleven HC football games in the fall using some if not all of the current advertisers. The station they are on, 98.9FM also has a stronger signal to many areas than WEEI-Worcester 1440AM which must be a lonely station because in many areas you can hear it in you can also hear WEEI's three clearer FM signals out of Boston, Springfield and Providence.
Maybe it's a complicated contractual situation or maybe it's just that few in the Athletic Dept. have a long history of bonding with Holy Cross sports via Bob Fouracre and Dick Lutsk in car, boat or yard while taking leaves, so free terrestrial broadcasts for the public is no big deal to them.
