Okay, so Coach Lapicki resigned 2 weeks ago and the job was posted on the Holy Cross employment website the following Friday. So far, so good. But there's still no posting of her departure on the NFCA Coach Transactions page or an ad for the job on the NCAA Marketplace or the NFCA Job Board. Seems odd since these are two of the most heavily used places by softball job seekers and employers trying to find each other. Does ADMB have someone lined up already and is simply doing the minimum to create the least amount of traffic or...? I would think that at least some viable candidates may not be frequent visitors to the HC Softball page.

Based on what I've learned from your posts it would seem advantageous to include California and other strong areas for softball in the search. There is plenty of regional recruiting expertise in the Athletic Dept. to help a new coach get up to speed in recruiting in our usual places but you can't manufacture experience and contacts in stronger areas we don't have much of a presence in.

Any AD has a list of names to call for a job opening....ADMB has been at two schools that have put money into their softball facilities so he probably has some contacts.

Got to wonder the news today of the AD leaving hurts the ability to fill this job....

Sure it does. To be tagged as the "prior AD's" hire is not a good thing. If you do a great job, it's neutral, since the new AD can't take much credit (ADMB and the football coach not withstanding), if you falter, you're toast. They'd better give the assistant the 'interim' tag soon and put this off until summer 2022, or they'll lose her too since almost every new head coach brings in their own team. She's an alum, so you have a bit of currency there, but without assurances, she'd be a fool to not have her resume on the street already.
