As to stereotypes - I know that some say all Irish like to drink and fight, but not everyone is an actor in The Quiet Man...or one of my relatives. If I hear of anyone promoting negative stereotypes, I will write their name in my book - and then strike a line through it

Whenever one of the "I'm offended by the mascot" polls shows up, I always wonder how many of the responders are fans of the school/team that is in question...It seems to my eyes and ears that most of the "fans" don't have a problem with mascot types and names, it seems it is the people on the outside looking in that drive the process...

Exactly that—we in the vast majority are plagued by the ludicrous initiatives of a vocal and obnoxious minority who just know what’s best for everyone

That is so profound. Are you "plagued" by the vocal 25% of Americans who want to overrule Roe v. Wade? Definitely "no" if you agree with them and definitely "yes" if you disagree. Just like every issue.

Just like every issue. I guess you are mocking me with the "so profound" comment, not something that we typically do on this board . I could return the favor re: your attempt to provide me with a life lesson but I'll refrain.

I long for the days when Crossporters were able to disagree agreeably and with respect for others of a different opinion.
Yeah, it really did used to be like that. Sort of like the U.S. Senate used to be but, like Crossports, no longer is.

Sad to see that happening in the eyes of some.
