Ignutz, are you really applying "logic" to the way standings are determined and the way the PL lists teams or does much of anything? I admire your efforts.

Patriot League at the college level = MIAA at the high school level.

Fwiw, if they win the last two games, they lock up the #1 seed no matter what other teams do. How is it that the PL standings show HC in first place and Loyola (with same record and points) in second place, but Loyola is showing as Clinched a playoff berth, but we are not showing as clinched? (I understand that, with our 1-0 win vs. Loyola, we take the tie-breaker, thus we're shown in 1st place.) actually it does make sense. As you point out, holy cross is listed first at the moment because they hold the tiebreaker over Loyola. But if HC should lose its last two games, there is a possible way for them to lose all the tiebreakers and drop down to seventh place in one unusual multi-team tie. . Unlikely but possible. Whereas Loyola cannot finish worse than sixth even if they lose their last two games. Their tiebreaker situation would be a bit better.

Our last two games are home vs. Lafayette and at BU - both teams are in the middle of the pack and will have a lot to play for - as will HC - the goal is to get one of the two top spots to earn a bye and get a semifinal home game

Refreshing for an HC team to be angling for a bye and a home tournament game.

After holding a 2-0 lead at the half, HC settles for one point with a 2-2 double overtime tie with Lafayette.

Those with experience in soccer know a 2-0 halftime lead is very dangerous

Does college soccer have a "golden goal" rule or is it like the World Cup; that is, every overtime is a double overtime?

From the stats it looks like Laf was the better team which is disappointing given what was at stake - we may have to beat BU to clinch that important bye in the playoffs

I hope our guys are better mudders than the 'pards! Wonder if HC can even host a PL game now with the damage done to the field playing in the rain. I seen Elite 8 games had venues changed due to poor field conditions.

I seen Elite 8 games had venues changed due to poor field conditions. Trying to get a turf field passed at a referendum this coming week because of an inability to keep a game field shared by football, soccer and lacrosse playable year round. We once had a full spring season of away lax games after a rainy Thanksgiving Day football game Of course, HC has more resources to repair a field than a public high school so I am confident the soccer field will remain playable.

Fitton Field has been spared by the schedule for a while. Saturday's FB game at Lehigh may have caused some damage if it was held in Worcester. HC has a wonderful grounds crew. Watching the Lehigh FB game on ESPN+ from Goodman, the camera caught wide expanses of open fields/lawn surrounding the stadium. HC doesn't have that type of topography. It's built on a steep hill with not much empty space so all the plantings have to be fit in just right to make the beautiful mosaic and airy, uncluttered feeling you get when walking from the Hart Center parking lot to Fitton Field and back.
A long way of saying the HC grounds crew will do whatever is professionally possible with the playing fields.

Amen to that. They are most proud of the awards HC has received for their work.

The head of the grounds crew spoke at Vince’s inauguration representing the College’s staff and so happy that he has a child who is a freshman at Holy Cross. They deserve every award they’ve ever gotten over the years.

We're at BU tonight at 6 in the regular season finale - the Terriers have been eliminated from the playoffs and we're playing for a lot ! depending on other results, we may need an outright win to get the 2nd seed, a first round bye and a home semifinal match. I hope we don't regret losing that 2 goal 2nd half lead vs. Lafayette on Saturday

Have other teams figured HC out (e.g. shutting down Evan Jones)?

With about 1:30 left in the first half, he had almost a completely open shot in the box and kicked it wide left. Announcers, presumably BU guys, were singing his praises but were surprised he missed what appeared to be a fairly easy shot.
