My interest in UConn football is mostly to wish they do well after losing to Holy Cross (and as a former Connecticut taxpayer) in order to help the Crusader look better.
Tried to watch the game against Vandy but taped it as I couldn't watch the whole thing live. My DVR for some reason cutoff in the 3rd quarter but it was a real back & forth game. Just saw the Huskies lost by 2 points and they lost the game before to Wyoming by 2 points. That's 4 points total in two losses. That's got to be tough.
I know, ACTP has no use for them or UMass. As I posted in another thread, I do try to maintain some geographic loyalty and don't find happiness in either of those teams' issues.
Well, somebody's got to win this weekend!

After their near miss with Vanderbilt, I like UConn in this one.

The (interim) head coach and 4 other "members of the program" test positive for Covid.
I'm taking the Minutepeople in this one, even though they've regressed even further the last couple weeks.

Wut?
How do you "regress" when you're 1-20 under the current coach with only win being over a squad that finished the 2019 season 0-12?

Umass up 10 with 14 minutes to go. Unless UConn snatches victory from the jaws of defeat (or UMass snatches defeat from the jaws of victory), their last best hope for a win is against Middle Tennessee (whose only win is against Monmouth). Yale will crush Uconn, I do believe.

Pretty much over for Huskies down 27-13 and then UMass kicks successful onside kick with under 4 minutes left.
UConn definitely snakebit.

Id guess spread at Yale -1.5 in Storrs. Going to personally predict a Uconn win next week against the Bulldogs. Yale is a decent Ivy League team this year but certainly nothing special.
UCONN is not beating MTSU.

You know, good for them. I was rooting for UConn but this must have been like a Super Bowl win for UMass. Hope they win many more until and if they play Holy Cross.

I was rooting for Uconn too. If they think what they are competitive FBS they are frauds. Its this bad in Amherst that you celebrate like that after winning 1 game when you're the favorite come on. back down to FCS. Are they going to celebrate like this when they beat Rhode Island and Maine I mean come on?

UConn was a 3 pt favorite - URI is better than UMass so that would be a very good win for them - Maine not as much

Yes. Rhode Island is the Ocean State while Massachusetts is just the “Bay State.” Everyone would rather go to the former rather than the latter! Besides UMass is no where near the water. 😉

Speaking of URI, it's great to see them off to a great start. They looked strong in their short season last year and would've possibly been in the playoffs had they not canceled the end of their season due to pandemic difficulties. Hope to see the Rhode Island Rams in the FCS playoffs this year. That program has certainly taken some major lumps over the years. And excited for our series with them in a couple years. Not sure who their coach is but imagine they'd have to be a candidate for the UCONN and UMASS jobs. UMASS absolutely should drop back down to FCS and rejoin the CAA.

Somebody should tell Benedict and Lamont that big time national universities don't usually have to drop men's swimming, tennis, and cross country because of lack of resources. As to football, I get that it is hard to say that a school is big time if it doesn't play in FBS, but at this rate, it feels like it is going to take a decade to get back to a decent competitive level.

Every state university in New England should be FCS in football.
