What boggles my mind more than anything is that he's been practicing as a QB since day one (August of 2014). How could they not have recognized this? Not only that but why did it take them so long to recognize how good a football player BF is? His first two years he played sparingly.

There's absolutely no excuse for this kid not starting. At the very least the 2nd Half. We could have won this game.

6'0" 235 lb Colgate RB picks up first down up the middle. Why don't we have someone like that? Don't get me started. THE END Roll credits.

Hell, why not just play football indoors in the new Luth indoor field? Lit, climate controlled and no need for stands since we will have no spectators/fans.

Clifford made a few freshman mistakes early on but there's no question he's the better qb

Clifford played in the toughest conference in Illiniois, Chicago Catholic League Blue, and won the state championship in the largest division. I realize him not playing when PP was returning was a given. However, with the injuries to PP and Wade, he should have been playing. Kid has talent, just needs reps and needs to not stare down receivers. He played in a spread offense much like HC's so the adjustment isn't that great. The debacle is on the staff not the kids.

We lose 26-8 for anyone who did not watch and was just reading here and wondered.
This guarantees a losing season regardless of the next two weeks.
This may have been the nail in the coffin for those wanting a coaching change.

This may have been the nail in the coffin for those wanting a coaching change. Just another nail but his fate was determined before today. Still hoping we can have some positives in the last two games as a building block for next year. A win at Yankee Stadium would be a good final memory for the seniors and a nice send-off for Gilmore.

Wondering whether the defense Clifford saw was the same one Bell saw in terms of personnel and scheme. I did not watch the fourth quarter.

CTG please take your offensive co-ordinator as well.....the short pass play calling is awful !! The players must not get coached to get to the first down marker and then look for the catch, we constantly do that and the QB throws the ball short of the first down 95% of the time.....maybe more ? What coaches cannot see the throwing ability of Clifford vs. Bell ?? We need a major overhaul in our coaches this is so glaring.

For the first time in a long while, I didn't even consider watching today's game.....got some errands done, had a nice long lunch with two of my brothers etc. Time much bettah spent.
I'm going to NYC in a couple weeks to see friends from school. I may not even go into Yankee Stadium, game-day decision.

This is the second game they've subbed out for Bell.
His numbers as a backup QB last year were not bad, though he played sparsely. He set single game, single season, and career records as a passer at a high school in Aurora IL. Aurora is not a tiny burg out in the sticks. I would think that's a credible achievement.
A fifth string QB would get his reps playing on the scout squad. So I would think it would take several weeks as a backup to pick up the offensive scheme, receiver routes, and timing. The sixth string QB is apparently a junior from Fordham Prep who has not played a minute. An unknown quantity.
I can understand if you are down to your last two QBs on the roster, that you'd try and see what you could get out of the third string before turning to the fifth string. And if there had not been three other quarterbacks who have gone down and missed the entirety / most / much of the season, Bell would be a WR, where he was playing at game;s end. Perhaps they are hoping Wade is ready by next week, else I would not put your only two quarterbacks on the field at the same time.
Ian Brown, the nominal second string, threw for over 5300 yards in his high school career.

We have been playing football for over 120 years. We will probably play for the next 120 as well. During that time there have been many ups and downs. They will continue. Right now we are way down. I do think that we have the right people in place to turn this around. ADNP and the President. They need to evaluate what we need to do to make us at least respectable going forward. By respectable we need to contend for the championship every year. Win the majority of our OC schedule ( at least 3 of the 5 consistently ) and occasionally win a game versus a BCS team.Coaches, facilities and financial commitment must all be looked at and evaluated to begin the process back to respectability. We have a long way to go and it needs to start from the top.

Clifford has a nice touch with his passes! And, he is mobile! He had a nice run right before the TD and almost took it in himself.
