I heard an excellent presentation this morning by Lou DelBianco about his grandfather. That man, Luigi DelBianco was the chief carver of Mt Rushmore. That is onlymthe beginning of this immigrant's story. The bulk of it is about how the National Park Service opposed giving this talented artisan his due recognition for decades, even after his grandson and nephew presented a book of evidence from the Park records to support their story. For anyone who may be interested, I recommend the book: Out of Rushmore's Shadows: the Luigi Del Bianco Story. If you do read it, please let me know your reaction.
