#5 seems about right - need to stay healthy, with significant contributions from frosh & sophs to do much better.

Hopefully Demski spent the summer at a TB12 clinic and has increased pliability. It would be great for her to have one season of close to full mobility. It will be interesting to see if Berger can make a needed immediate impact. She will be the biggest immediate test of Coach Magarity's recruiting as her size would indicate significant playing time unless she just isn't ready.

Agree, Davis also apparently had ACL surgery in the off season (based only upon seeing a picture wearing a brace in practice). I have high hopes for Berger, but history suggests that most bigs in the PL take at least the better part of a season or two too adjust to the speed and physical nature of D1. If Demski & Davis can't give significant mins, they are going to be small up front and all the teams ranked a head of them have good to very good size & depth upfront, especially Lehigh & BosU.

As you say, Lehigh and Boston U have good size. However Bucknell will be very small. Their likely starting lineup will have PF/C’s who are 6-1 and 6-0. And the top subs are 6-0 or less.

The taller teams better be prepared for the strength of Ezemma and Allen.

The taller teams better be prepared for the strength of Ezemma and Allen. Not trying to be snarky, but I'm going to guess since BU & Lehigh won by an average of around 14 pts in going 7-1 vs HC last yr & have just about all their key players coming back I'm going say yes, they will be.

And getting back to the thread title, honoring LaBarbera, I think she's wonderful, not just as a player but as a person. When we were told we'd be getting our "Cutout Cru" pictures back autographed by the team, having been in contact previously with Avery (I used to live in her hometown), I reached out to her and asked her if she would personalize her John Hancock on my 9 year old granddaughter's picture and she gladly did which was a very nice gesture. And she actually believed that it was for your granddaughter ! Nice work, 1970

That makes her my favorite Crusader basketball player, men or women. Now, if 45 reads this, it might trigger a response from him about the Cutout Cru lack of male autographs but that's a whole other story. Manis was the steak, Avery was the sizzle. It's a shame the adults were feuding during their two years together, and Covid ended their PLT run right before the semi-final at Bucknell. They went that whole season down a coach and there was never a hint of a complaint from any player, only "Me, me, me" from members of the coaching staff. Coach Magarity has a lot of experience and a full off-season and pre-season to work with. Let's hope she can weave together a special season for Avery and the whole team.

Uh oh. Doesn't anyone graduate anymore?😊 Actually all of the seniors at Lehigh and Boston U did graduate. It’s just that neither had many seniors. This is in contrast to their men’s programs, where both of them brought back all of their senior starters for a 5th year. Bucknell’s women’s team btw graduated four senior starters, two of whom are playing for other programs this fall. Bucknell does not allow fifth year players normally in any sport.

The fifth year of eligibility isn't completely equitable to undergraduate only schools, but it's equitable to players so I say go for it and keep playing as long as someone will have you on their team.

BU also has MAAC ROY 6'4" transfer from Marist this year As I mentioned in the transfer thread, HC heavily recruited Weimar before she committed to Marist. She would have looked great in purple. BU will be very big, deep & talented upfront.
