Nice honor Hope it helps recruiting as it has for some men’s college coaches. The mens u-18 team is nearly the usntp squad. The coach is the same. www.usahockeyntdp.com/teamstaff

Very disappointing weekend from the women. Split with Franklin Pierce, lost 4-0 on the road on Saturday. While losing to northeastern and penn state makes sense, need to take care of business against a school like Franklin Pierce.

Very disappointing weekend from the women. Split with Franklin Pierce, lost 4-0 on the road on Saturday. While losing to northeastern and penn state makes sense, need to take care of business against a school like Franklin Pierce. The other other matchups between the NEWHA and Hockey East are St. A's 5-3 win over Maine, Northeastern beating St. A's 5-0, UConn swept LIU 3-1, 2-0, Maine swept LIU 4-2 and 3-2. So the NEWHA isn't total trash. HC did dominate FPU in shots on goal 41-24 so play was titled in favor of the Crusaders. The interesting part is Ostrander did NOT play for FPU in that game. Look at this performance she had in the NEWHA semis in 2019-2020 www.fpuravens.com/sports/wice/2019-20/releases/022220WHatSTAHockey East is much more competitive this year with Northeastern having two losses in five games, BC struggled this weekend to put UNH away, Merrimack tied BU, and UConn has stepped up their program. It is going to be a rough year if HC doesn't start playing better.

We are 3 years into a fully funded HE program - I hope the coach is more concerned about putting a better product on the ice and put aside any USA U-18 responsibilities - indeed a very bad weekend when you get outscored 4-2 over the two games

Can't USA Hockey find winning coaches for the youth teams? At least when BG coached national WBB teams it was during a period when HC WBB were consistent winners. I assumed that was a prerequisite for a position such as this.

Optics? Do you really care about the coach's record with other players? I doubt many do.

Don't our national teams deserve the best coaches in the country? Some will be skating in the Olympics one day.

Good luck. Holy Cross will get a few mentions to an audience of young hockey players and their families. It's all good.

I don’t know a lot about U18 women’s hockey but I’m predicting US and Canada will play in the finals.

I don’t know a lot about U18 women’s hockey but I’m predicting US and Canada will play in the finals. Interestingly enough, USA plays Canada tomorrow in group play. Canada was upset in their first game by Finland 2-0.

Interesting that Canada seems like they are not particularly strong this year. Wonder what’s going on? Maybe they have their top U18s play up to get a higher level of comp. Can’t imagine we’d be 7 goals better than them at even strength though girls youth hockey in the US (or at least certain cold parts of it) has exploded.

Canada knocks off Finland 2-1 in a very evenly played game and will meet the USA in the Gold Medal game,. USA beats Sweden 3-2 in a come from behind, penalty filled game.

In a complete turnabout from the first game, Canada leads 3-0 in the 2nd period, so far have dominated play.
