We would surely have had the most D-1 victories of any D-3 team in the country this past season. Probably get a team photo on a Wheaties box. Whether we could have won a Worcester City tournament is another question. Need impartial observer Mr. Foley to answer that question. 6-23 out of conference.

How about a spring 2022 mid week City baseball tournament between Clark, Assumption, WPI, WSU and HC. Who would have won? Perhaps double or triple elimination since there are five city teams and plenty of Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.

Underclassmen returning from a team that reached at least one goal (the PL playoffs) with a late season surge, and who want to be here are also an appreciating asset. The underclassmen should not have been playing on this team. They played out of necessity. It does not make them better than what they are. I know what you're saying but, "How do you get to Carnegie Hall? Practice, practice, practice." Just looking for some bright spots.

Yes, a couple of HC hoops fans fell for that and got excited when many frosh ‘broke into’ the starting lineup several years ago. Only meant they were the best options on a bad team. Didn’t mean they were good.

Now of all a sudden a school you think has awful coaches and no talent is now all of a sudden supposed to dominate out of conference. I could name you 30 Northeast teams in each division with losing out of conference records. How is it fair to travel and match up with the southern schools in February and March. We beat your Harvard team! The 2017 team out of conference 8-21

We beat your Harvard team! The 2017 team out of conference 8-21 2017 the team played Auburn (3), Cal-Riverside (4) and USC (3) and then went on to play Oregon State and Nebraska in Corvallis. And we won 12 out of conference games. That’s not comparable to 2021 where we literally played the worst schedule in years. We got swept this year by North Carolina A&T who went 14-37. Their RPI ended up being 267 next to our 269.

Wang seems like he'd slide in rather easily to BC's program as a DH / platoon player. Is that where he is going? That'd be a good pickup for BC. Just guessing.

For those who still revel in BC's troubles they are collapsing into the end of their season - lost a midweek game to Maine 18-5, and followed that up last night losing to Clemson 15-1 - Long ago they were eliminated from the ACC post season tourney - Grad transfer Liam Dvorak from HC has seen very limited action for them this season

UConn on the other hand won the Big East last weekend and is now 43-11 and 16-3 in Big East play after losing to Georgetown on Thursday evening 13-2. Notre Dame (another cold weather team) is currently ranked 8th in the country and is 32-12 and 15-10 in ACC play after losing to number 9 Miami last evening.

The Bucknell at AWP series was not played last weekend because of graduation at the respective schools - they are playing today, tmro and Thursday (if nec) In the first league to crown a champ the Ivy title went to Columbia which took a dh from Penn on Sunday after dropping the 1st game of the series

What's a usual timeline for a successful transfer? Do baseball players stay active in the portal during the fall semester and available to transfer and play at a new school in the spring if they haven't found a match before they start their fall semester at their current school? Can they play fall ball while in the portal?
Interesting situation for the Spring sports.

A small amount of sanity involving the portal.

Bison led 7-5 going into the bottom of the 9th. An error, 3 singles and sac fly leads to the loss

Recruiting for the Patriot League and Holy Cross specifically, for non scholarship slots on a low D-1 roster has to be an acquired skill that should be better understood and improved upon over time.
It's been noted that recruiting is selling, but product knowledge of what your selling complements selling ability. I hope a hidden asset to retaining coaches like EK for awhile is acquired skill at identifying which potential recruits are the best fit for Holy Cross.
A .310 hitter for four years could be more valuable than a .330 hitter for one year and I hope coaches in all our sports are honing their skill at identifying keepers.
Good luck to Nick Wang. I hope he finds his best fit. If he doesn't need a scholarship he should have one of the least stressful experiences in the portal as the much of the college baseball world would be his oyster.
If it's a situation where a player will only transfer if given a scholarship at the next school, I hope the Coach has kept the light on for that type of player to remain with HC baseball after testing the waters.
