I’m aware that the team used the Auburn High field for some practices recently when the conditions at Fitton were bad. Now I’m hearing that they are moving there permanently. Does anyone know anything about this? The rumor started on campus. Sounds like a campus urban legend without credence. Why would the school abandon a facility that seats 3,000 and was built just 18 years ago? Certainly would not abandon a historic field that hosted, Babe Ruth, Lou Gehrig, Casey Stengel in its legacy and home to a team that has accomplished what no other team in the Northeast has accomplished. Whatever is a problem, can be remediated minus the installation of artificial turf, which many have opine numerous times. Maybe the parking on the outfield during the past football season has caused a problem. If there was an extreme issue, the Bravehearts would have raised it, and changes would have been made. The grounds crew is meticulous regarding the turf in both venues.

Under PL rules, it should now only be 7 innings. The first game went into what I thought was extras. Was that not the case? Yes, the first game went into extra innings, nine innings to be exact. Under PL rules, when the first game goes nine or more innings, then the second game is reduced to seven innings.

Bucknell here for dh today - they are playing well after split at Army yday - 13-12 overall and 7-3 in PL (Tied for 1st with Navy) Still no sign of DiLauro and Mudd on the mound (other than some brief appearances) - does anyone know the extent of their injuries ? Without them at full strength we have no chance of recovering this season

These guys need to learn to run bases, make cutoff plays of outfield throws, where to play in the infield. The basics need to be taught

It is one thing to say that the social studies teacher does a lousy job coaching the high school team. It is another to say that some guy charging several thousand per year because he is a former minor league player doesn't teach them anything.

Toomey with another double and jack yesterday vs. Navy, but the errors and some of the fundamentals are costing us. The high school I work at has a competitive baseball team and we have been struggling with fundamentals early on as well. Surprising to see it making it all the way up to the ncaa ranks. At the younger levels, we have to do "cutoff lines" and randomize practice with the catcher yelling out directions such as "cut 2, cut 3, etc." Even at high levels of AAU, some of the players are missing fundamentals (or they think they know better than coaches and teammates and airmail the cut guy in order to throw someone out at home).

Luke Fox pitching game 2 for HC - We're up 4-0 after 3 innings - stating the obvious: We need both games today

Jack DiLauro who was our no.1 arm coming into the season will start game 2 - he has pitched only 6 2/3 innings all season so far - a big help if he rounds into form Oliver Brown the frosh from Anchorage who has pitched regularly in relief is suddenly our starting 2B, and CJ Egrie has been moved to CF - Brown has had a hot bat

All they learn how to do is hit and pitch from what I can tell.

3-5 in PL play vs Army, Navy and Bucknell, with 2 of those losses very winnable games, is pretty good. Looks like the upperclassmen pitchers are coming around/getting healthy. Big weekend vs Navy coming up

Examples of crazy midweek baseball: 19th ranked UConn blows a 12-0 2nd inning lead and falls to a 12-11 Columbia team in NYC and loses 19-14 9th ranked BC (you're reading that right) eaked out a 13-12 win over a terrible UMass team (4 wins on the season) in Amherst
