IIRC, almost all assistant coaches get annual contracts...head coaches of olympic sports...I do not know for sure.

Yes, I think even the assistants for the "revenue" sports (remember when it was politically correct to talk about "major" and "minor" sports?) are on annual contracts but it's the head coaches that I'm really curious about. Actually, even wonder about the hockey head coaches.

In case you missed todays score, an 8-4 loss (led 4-3 after 5 innings) - pitching gave up 32 runs in the three losses. Now in the cellar of PL standings

Actually, even wonder about the hockey head coaches. I am fairly certain the hockey coaches get multi-year contracts. Not sure about the others. Maybe non- guaranteed multi-year contracts so it’s essentially a mutual option for x number of years that doesn’t require a whole new contract every year?

For this Saturday, the schedule says Alumni Day. Don’t recall seeing that in the past. Anyone know of any specifics?

Actually, even wonder about the hockey head coaches. One makes the assumption that Hockey head coaches get the same 4-5 year initial contract to give them their own recruiting cycle. But what if Riga has a shorter contract? Losing him would take the shine off of Kit's performance since arrival. A Holy Cross Head Coach who can take over a terrible team and get them to the league tournament final in his/her second year is pleasantly unusual. So, I hope Kit is managing his available budget to prioritize keeping Coach Riga even if he has to keep a winless minor sport coach who has a multi-year contract for an extra season, or saying "not this year" to a requested expenditure for one of the highly funded sports.

Any idea when Kahovec’s contract is up?

Predictably, a tough one on the banks of the mighty Hudson, trailing 13-4 in the 3rd.

Looking at a 10 run rule game after 7 innings (I hope) and imagine one of our 3 PL wins this season was over AWP

We must be saving our pitching for the weekend series.

A final score of 22-12.
As of today, out of 295 D1 teams, we are 252nd in ERA, 265th in fielding %, & 250th in WHIP. Even the "bright spot" of this team, the offense, ranks 235th in runs per game.
I tried to remain as optimistic as possible this season, especially early on with the knowledge that even our best teams have started out slow in the past, but this showing in the PL has been embarrassing. It's actually hard to fathom how quickly this program has bottomed out after a number of years of sustained presence at or near the top of the league standings.

Is it possible that baseball still has a chance? 10 League games left. If they win 7 of 10, I think they get in at 10-15.

BC was doing well until the last two weeks - still ranked 20th this week but they’ve lost 5 of their last 6 ACC games and were routed yday at home in loss to UConn 12-1 - any hope of hosting a sub regional is slipping away

Dartmouth comes to Fitton today for 5pm first pitch - unbelievable that the Big Green have lost 24 consecutive games and are 1-31 overall (one of those losses to HC back in early March)

They lost the doubleheader but actually didn't look that bad. They just can't close out games. A must win for HC.

Wow, what happened to Dartmouth? They've been a pretty solid Ivy program.
Strangely enough, their one win this season is against South Florida. In the two game series, Dartmouth outscored them 9-5. USF is okay this year (17-24, 6-6 in the AAC).

Looks like we need to win all seven remaining league games to get in to the last playoff spot to face Army. Would be interesting if we could sweep Bucknell this weekend and get to 7-14 in the league.

That could well be pessimistic. HC definitely needs to sweep the two games vs Lafayette when they meet, but they might not need to sweep their other games. LC still has five games remaining with 18-2 Army, and they could lose all five. Under that scenario, they would end up 9-16. Since HC would hold the tiebreaker with LC, they would only need to win three of their other five games (vs Bucknell and Lehigh). And if LC manages to win one game vs Army, then HC would need to win four of their five other games. Not likely, but far from impossible.
