This game was THE 1-AA game in the Northeast for a stretch in the 1980s. Some incredible games between these 2 fine institutions back then. Remember catching the very end of the 1982 game on ABC as I believe the ALCS game somehow pre-empted much of it for some reason (rain delay?). Tough loss as they beat us on a long pass late. The 1983 game was one of the best games at Fitton in the 1980s....a 21-18 Sader W before 20K...Homecoming I believe. This is a tremendous rivalry that is oft ovahlooked by some. Outside of the Ivies, no 2 teams in the Northeast have been playing one another at this level longer and more frequently than HC and Colgate I believe. (Lehigh and Lafayette were in the college division, D2 etc for much of the 20th C) UNH and Maine will meet for the 111th time in November...Only 28 more times.

And less than 3000 people showed up to watch that game on a beautiful Friday night in Ithaca. Times change.

UNH won't make the tourney. Even that projection only has Holy Cross one spot above UNH. There is no chance the NCAA would send a game to HC over UNH in terms of facilities, lighting, tv capability, etc.

After all, if HC is rated higher than UNH, why not? We have rented lights for Fitton before and could again.

The UNH "stadium" -- despite the renovation -- still wreaks of small-time with the track surrounding it. Lighting doesn't matter when kickoff would be noon or 1. You really think that a game in Durham or Worcester would come down to the items you listed (which aren't even true) over each team's resume from this season?

Interesting that you believe the decision will come down to your list of inaccuracies and misconceptions. I hope the committee gets the actual facts before making such a decision. I also don't get excited about playing in a tournament to which we have not yet been invited or for which HC has not yet qualified with a PL title.

I seen the NCAA avoid UNH over the same issues so 🤷♂️

There is one.....but it is no where as entertaining or in discussion of a plethora of topics as Crossports.
He must enjoy the ABC of message boards with Crossports discussion of the Wide World of Sports..... queue Jim McKay and music..... 😂

unhsports.boards.net/I have not seen a Foley post on his “home board”. Maybe he has a “nom de plume” when he post to the UNH board.
