Comedy of errors.
Harvard throws an INT in OT #2, Princeton runs it to the 16 and blows a field goal. Blocked, but more because it was a crappy kick than anything else (the kid had already missed two and what the hell was Princeton playing so conservatively instead of trying to get a first down).
OT #3 (alternating two pointers)- Princeton gets stopped. Harvard makes theirs, but there's a review and the review determines the Princeton coaches called time before the play. Never heard of that in a review. Harvard runs another play, pass is complete for the two, offensive pass interference!
Princeton wins it in OT#5 on a great catch. Harvard's 2 pointer was successful as well, but, believe it or not, this time Coach Murphy called time before the play!

Went to the game but had to leave with about 4 minutes left as my wife wanted to attend the 5:00 mass. It was tied at 13 when I left. Game was annoyingly slow with commercials and official reviews. Both defenses were strong. Harvard had 4 INTs but just couldn't cash in. I think there defensive backfield was the key factor against HC as our receivers just couldn't get open. PU's only TD came on a blocked punt in the 2nd quarter. Attendance of just over 10,000 on Homecoming day with a good turnout on the Harvard side. Will be interesting to see where PU ends up in the polls next week.

It was a great game, - two terrific undefeated teams, in a classic; five overtimes filled with great plays, terrible lapses by players & officials and controversies.

Dartmouth was flat on Friday against Columbia and the Lions shut them out for the first time since 1944.

IMHO, they will make their next opponent pay for that.

Almost true of Fordham. Now the Rams have a bye week.

How about this crowd? HC by far the most fans in the PL. How about 4475 scattered throughout the Yale Bowl for the game against Penn Attachments:

If that's the Bucknell side (tough to tell w/that photo), 1K is hundreds over the real crowd.
Pretty soon they'll put those canvases over the stands up to the 40s (looks like it's on about the 20 now).
Congrats to GU by the way.

Harvard's 2 pointer was successful as well, but, believe it or not, this time Coach Murphy called time before the play! Great catch. The Ivy League has now determined that was indeed an officiating error. And it cost Harvard the game-winning score: "In the third overtime, Harvard threw a pass for a successful two-point conversion. After the play, the replay booth stopped the game for an official review. While the review did determine that the Princeton head coach called for timeout before the ball was snapped, the officiating crew made a procedural error as a timeout can only be recognized and granted prior to the snap by an on-field official and is not reviewable. Therefore, the timeout should not have been granted and the play should have resulted in a successful two-point conversion." "The outcome of the game will stand as a win for Princeton. The league office will address the error with the officials." www.google.com/amp/s/news.yahoo.com/amphtml/ivy-league-admits-officiating-error-cost-harvard-a-game-winning-score-in-princetons-5-ot-win-171257026.html

I watched the game, and I'm confused. It is still on ESPN+ replay, may watch the end again. The officiating error was during the third overtime. www.thecrimson.com/article/2021/10/26/2021-FB-Princeton-Officiating/In the fifth overtime, Princeton scored, and Harvard scored to match. But the Harvard coach had called a timeout, So the attempt was re-played and Harvard was stopped short.

The second time it happened (this time to Harvard), it was more in line with what you see all the time, the timeout happened a split second before the snap; little or no hesitation by the officiating team to declare the play null and void. Rickii can return to his nap.
