It's time for our annual poll, a competition to see who does the best job of forecasting the 2021-2022 season for the Crusaders. After three years of (understandably) erring on the optimistic side, our posters were spot on last season.
2017-2018 Too High= 36 posters predicted more wins that we posted Correct= 13 posters checked the "11-13" box and HC won 13 games Too Low= 5 posters predicted fewer wins than actual
2018-2019 Too High= 39 posters Correct= 13 posters Too Low= 2
2019-2020 Too High= 55 Correct= 4
2020-2021 Too High= 11 Correct= 22 Too Low= 13
As a refresher-- it spurs more productive debate, and is more entertaining, if, in addition to checking a box on the poll, you also submit a post with your precise number of wins. Many posters like to provide a recap oy OOC, Patriot League Conference games, and post season games (which includes PL tournament and beyond)
Also please note that you may disregard my editorial comments next to the win brackets in the poll--or call me out in your post. We are looking for the number of wins for the season whether you believe that win total to be good, bad, or indifferent. The poll closes on Nov 9 at 700 PM when we begin the season versus Regis. As I see it we have
13 OOC games-- exhibition games do not count 18 PL Conference regular season games 1 or more games in the PL tournament, and any games beyond the PL tournament-NCAA, NIT, etc
Good luck to you all, but more so to the Crusaders!

Was going to pick 9 or 10 and voted for the more optimistic category. I'm figuring winning less than half the games but some here will figure winning more games than last year is progress. Frankly, if we can't win at least half the PL games, somebody's head better roll. Marcus is gone so last man standing better look at perhaps a career selling insurance. Maybe that's too cynical for some here but I've been reading how great the talent is on this team over what poor Brett was left with by Carmody. His guys. Year 3. Produce.

Ten.
Thankfully having Regis and The Mount (St. Vincent) on the schedule gets us to double digit wins.

I don't feel bad beating Regis and the Mount if we do. The ranked teams don't feel bad about beating D2 or D3 why should we?
Look at Georegtown's out of conference schedule in the last 5 years. Almost all home games against Mid to Low Major teams. thecrossisback

I'll go with 13.
OOC 5-8 PL--7-11 PLT-1-1
Importantly, I hope that the interim ADs have given BN clear criteria as to what it is going to take for him to keep his job.

Looking through clearly purple tinted glasses, I'll say 18 wins (possibly 19 if everything breaks right). Of course, what do I know?

I have absolutely no idea how many games the hoop team will win this season and I don’t think anyone does for that matter. As I said a few weeks ago, HC has two players who have played a D1 game against a team not named Colgate, BU, West Point and Lehigh. Ten of of the twelve scholarship players are considered frosh by the NCAA eligibility gods. My guess is the UMass scrimmage was an eye-opener for most of the team. I am hoping for an interesting year.

My guess is that you didn't get what you're hoping for. I don't think the interim AD's had any discussions with Coach Nelson about his future at HC or if they think he's on a hot seat. That's just not the kind of conversation anyone with the word "interim" in their title has. Downright impossible to put out a clear criteria when both sides know the criteria could be achieved and the coach still get fired by the new AD or conversely, the clear criteria could not get met and the coach might still be retained by the new AD. -------------- When you break down the wins like that, it looks like a pretty lousy season

You raise a good point. Nelson has job security until we get a new AD and that person has a chance to fully evaluate him. He doesn't have a pass officially, but with all the NCAA Freshmen on the team, if it looks like HC is playing hard and there aren't any scandals, it would appear Coach isn't going anywhere for a while.

Those who don't like Nelson will lump together anything they can to get him out. You make a solid point. Any word on the eta of the new AD?

10 wins
OOC = 3-10 PL = 7-11 PLT = 0-1
The misery continues. My fondest wish is that I am underestimating this team.
