I don't follow the ladies team anymore, so the names kind of past me by.
From memory, he is pleased with being pre-season poll in the middling but joked he would have preferred to have been picked 8 or 9 so the ladies would have a chip on their shoulder. Raquel's injury seemed to have been devastating to the team's fortunes last year and they need people to pick up her scoring and all around play. He said the rookies have great talent but they are freshmen and how fast they develop would be how good the team would be but if they do develop, the team will be "deep" though he also said that he says that every year. Two of the first year players were picked as the best in their state. One was from NH and I believe the second was another NE state but don't recall.
He has a walk on who is the best he's had in his 32 years of coaching and implied good enough for a scholarship but they did not have one to give. I think he said she made 6 or 7 3s in a scrimmage.
He raved about I think it was Swords who is the grandniece of former president Fr. Ray Swords. I think it was her father who played rugby at Holy Cross and captained the US Rugby team something like 8 years. He said her father is huge at 6' 8" and couldn't walk and chew gum at the same time when he first came to HC but took up rugby and became a star. Said the daughter is 6' 3" and ruggedly (my words) built - said something like she was built like her father.
I think, like Carmody, he did not get into injuries but talked about some players who had been hurt last year and think they are recovered.
Those with better memories and/or more familiarity with the players can chime in.

The walk on must be Kathryn Pedi from New Trier, Ill.

Just copying some thoughts from coaches' night relating to the ladies that appeared on the guy's board - just in case some ladies' fans don't follow the men's board
The ladies are picked 4th in the league. The team has good experience in the backcourt but is young up front. Six freshman on the roster. Gibbons liked the idea of being picked so low as it gives the girls something to prove, basically creating a chip on the shoulder. I thought 4th was kind of generous for a really young team
