HC deserves a home game. Let’s say they are 9-2. They deserve a home game against Sacred Heart or maybe URI in round 1. Just speculating folks. With an FBS win, Yale and Monmouth and Fordham like this - all on the road by the way - they deserve 1 home game. That Merrimack game still gets me. A win there and at 10-1 there’s a chance we avoid a first round game. Smacking down the 2nd best PL team by 30 is very nice and we certainly are the class of the league. At the same time Merrimack lost to St Francis today 22-6 to go to 5-5. Agree that loss was just awful - could cost us in the playoff picture.

That game may have paid dividends in the long run.....despite a sloppy 1/2 to 2/3 of the Lehigh game...we pretty much dominated PL play this year. I agree though, a 9-2 team with the OOC wins we've had, deserves a home first round playoff game.

Doesn’t seem like anyone wants this game to end. Good god. Can we move it along a little? Are you sitting out in cold Coffey Field ?

For a home game, someone needs to go to Fitton on Sunday with a tape measure and see if the sideline distance between the field and the stands meets the minimum distance spec. From Google maps, it may, but without checking the NCAA field spec, the minimum distance between the back of the west end zone and the fence may not. Awfully tight. If Fitton did not meet the NCAA field spec, would any games be allowed on the field? ?

Why is Sluka throwing?? He struggles in a good day to make throws no need to pass. Lost opportunity to run clock and wear this defense down more. Smh Check Sluka’s quarterback rating for the game—compare it to DeMorat’s

The NCAA field spec is for the football championship series. It meets the field spec for regular season. Polar met the field spec for a regular season, but would not meet the field spec for a playoff game, at least as it was configured for the inaugural game.

Interesting that you actually believe the HC offense carried the day. Certainly, it was not a shootout. HC's D disarmed the FU O. Most important, HC won on a beautiful sunny day. FWIW it was refreshing to hear excellent announcers for a change call an HC football game. They were by far the most professional I've heard all season. We had 559 yards of offense and scored 52 points and possessed the ball for 39:08. I believe that’s a pretty dominant performance by the offense. You should be glad they outperformed your expectations.

HC had 559 yards of total offense. pretty evenly split between rushing and passing. HC time of possession was 39 minutes and change.

Thought that I would share the hot-off-the-presses T&G story (not written apparently by Jen Tolland):

OK...we've all been tiptoeing ovah this....can Sluka and Siderman co-exist at QB moving forward? Does Pesansky see himself buried for 3 years?

Another post said this year's home field decisions for round one will be based on the best offer. How does that effect things? Also the NCAA is in the process of transferring much centralized authority to the Divisions and leagues. Maybe the new decision makers will be more sensible and just have one set of dimensions for regular season and the much more rare FCS tournament games. Maybe we could borrow a few feet of Fordham's quarter mile of far sideline space.

Not sure about Pesansky but I'd be surprised if Siderman has an issue. First, he plays almost as much as Sluka and today was a unique situation with the weather pretty much dictating we use our running game even more than usual. If you heard the announcers, they said they had asked Chesney about "wasn't there a time when you were trying to narrow it down to just one QB?" His response was "yes, but neither of them lost the job." Siderman, and maybe Pesansky have to know that football being a contact sport and with Matt "slithering," it just takes one unfortunate play to sideline him and then he/they might be QB#1. Knock on wood and light a candle that never happens.

Thought that I would share the hot-off-the-presses T&G story (not written apparently by Jen Tolland): This by-line in practice at the T&G doesn't mean the story wasn't written by Jen, it means whoever wrote it didn't attend the game but rather watched it on ESPN+. The T&G would piece together a story from far road games when the only live account was Bob Fouracre on the radio and use this by-line. When Ralph and BG coached during the same ten years, you could tell BG was the bigger ham as the WBB games would have quotes from Bill but the MBB games wouldn't have any. I assumed Bill called into the T&G newsroom from a cell phone on the bus. Ralph probably didn't give out his number.🙂

I would assume since Pesansky has played in 3 games they are not going to waste a year of eligibility to try to keep him. Just my two cents. Today could be a day where Siderman looks for other options. Not much reason for him to stay, unless in playoffs he has an amazing game..

I appreciate the T&G covering the game even if the expense budget kept them in Worcester.

It may be that Siderman and Pesansky play most of the Bucknell game. And save Sluka's legs. If Greenhagen had played today, the HC run game and game strategy would have been quite different.

Congrats HC. The better team won. Continue to be so impressed with your coaching staff. And Sluka just dominates us. Good luck in the playoffs!

I don’t know that there are stats to back this up, but I think I’d match up our coaching staff’s ability to make halftime (or weather delay) adjustments against just about any other staff.

It’s not the PL so he will need the reps. He will start and play until game in hand.

Well, at least we won't have to hear the Ram announcers saying again that Fordham (first said after their comeback against Lafayette) was the CLEAR FAVORITE to take the Patriot League Championship.

Stat of the day:
Second half yardage - Holy Cross 267 Fordham 59
According to the Box Score posted by the FU Athletic Dept., the Rams amassed a whopping total of FOUR YARDS in the 4th quarter (on only 8 plays).
Can you say second-half adjustment?
