Nice 77-49 win for the ladies - HC outscored Dartmouth in each of the 4 quarters.

If this game is any indication, Magarity should be feeling pressure to compete for the league title - all 4 seniors looked good and then you have a decent soph class led by BPC I'm not including jr. Cross at the moment as she looks overwhelmed for some reason - had an open 10 footer which she air-balled in the 2nd half This is the season !

Still, too many turnovers & need to play a little better team D. To often, players missed the switches. I am a little befuddle by the rotations, but figure that will start to settle the next few games. Allen, Petro & Demski seemed particularly sporty tonight. Berger looked good in spots, but got lost a little on D. I think as the year progress her conditioning & footworkl improve.

Let see after the next few games - Dartmouth is not very good, Lost to URI who we play in a couple of weeks by 46. UMASS, who we play Friday, will be a sterner & better test.

If this isn't the year then next season certainly isn't - or is our program not supposed to compete for titles ?

The only thing that concerns me is that when we had four seniors including Manis, and Avery at the point, we didn't dominate the league. Also a ten team league is more difficult to win an auto bid from than the seven team FB or six team baseball configuration. Wasn't the PL still eight teams when we won most of our WBB championships?
But we're tied for first place with everybody else so let's go for it.

I am sure Magarity is/will be feeling more pressure as she claims more ownership each season with her own recruits. I am not sure beating Dartmouth is a measure of much in 2021. Good win for the team and its confidence. Dartmouth is not good and will battle Brown for the bottom of the Ivy league. It's good to take care of business in the games you should. Learning that, and making that part of the culture, is good. There are a lot of patriot league wins on the table outside of the top three league teams. HC needs to get those to get to the 'feeling pressure' part of the title chase in my view. The coach should be feeling pressure to develop/recruit a playmaker as good as Avery.

Dartmouth is TERRIBLE....that was just ugly all around. She will eventually be fine in Hanover based on her background but it is going to be a LONG 2021-2022 season for the Big Green.

Dartmouth has four international players, Australia (2) Spain and Kenya with little positive effect currently. HC only has one but made it count with BPC from Ireland. She made an impact from game one freshman year. I wonder if HC recruited her before or after she began her post grad year at Marianapolis?

If this isn't the year then next season certainly isn't - or is our program not supposed to compete for titles ? I guess that depends on your definition of "compete for titles" is. I think the have a legitimate chance to finish in the top 4 & get a home game for the playoffs if Berger/Demski and Petro continue to improve & give meaningful minutes. I don't believe that Ezemma & Allen have the size to hold off the bigs at BosU & Lehigh. The guards need to shoot better - so far they have missed a lot of open looks and the turnovers!

Alas, BC students can no longer drink away their blues at Mary Ann's as it is becoming a cannabis store.

By the way, BosU just knocked off BC 69-65. Great for BU and the PL as a whole but terrible scheduling by BC. Not sure what that accomplishes for BC playing at BU in a H/H, a competitive cross town rival, when your preseason goal is an at large bid in the NCAA tournament. Probably felt a little extra sweeter for the BU players knocking of a HM school when their coach ditched them for greener pastures only to lose to NJIT...

I think the BU/BC contract is similar to the one HC has - 2 for 1. It will be interesting to see if the series continues, although IIRC, BC wacked them the previous 2 times they played. By the way, it was a very good game to watch. BU guards are very good.

What if BU insisted on home and home, what would BC say, "Ok, we'll fly to Akron and stay overnight instead. We don't grant equal status to mid majors no matter what the cost?"

Yes, but more likely, Brown, Albany, Siena, Marist - they would drop BU in a second.

Actually, HC has had a true H/H series with BC for several contracts now. Just taking a look at BC's previous schedule it looks like BU has a similar agreement, though for whatever reason BC played @ BU in both 19-20 and this year (no meeting during COVID season).
Did not realize they played as frequently as they have so my previous post is moot!
