Thawing out on the drive back to Dartmouth. Seemed bettah than 4K but whatevah. Very frustrating game for 58 minutes. O out of synch all day. D was tremendous save for many 3rd down breakdowns. Kicking game was great. Survive and advance! Kudos to SHU and their fans...team played great and that was the best visiting team support in awhile. I just shared the number that was on the live stats.

Perhaps outcoached...but not OUTPLAYED! Not even sure about "outcoached" since the final score does figure into that.

Sluka seemed too amped up all day. Felt like he lost his composure a lot as a result.

And in the real world (and on Crossports) do you think anyone other than you gives a damn? HC won't see those numbers tonight at Lake Whitt since they aren't a name program. You are probably right. I guess even the fans at UNH don't care to see or support their players.

That's 4,163 more than there were in Durham today. Why do bother to post here sunshine? More people attended the last UNH men's hockey home game.... UNH men's soccer against UVM in the regular season even outdrew HC football Just for the record, I think I can speak for everyone on this board in saying that no one cares at all about any UNH sporting event.

The temps and wind might keep Siderman on the sidelines for this one. Can Sluka pass well enough to balance our offense ? In the end, yes. Thank God (and Coker).

UNH-Lafayette playoff game in Durham in 2013 drew 3,286. Just saying.

UNH-Lehigh playoff game in 2016 drew 2,240. Maybe they should've told everyone it was a soccer game and more people would've showed up.

UNH-Lafayette playoff game in 2013 drew 3,286. Just saying. Well said. Today's crowd looked and sounded robust on ESPN+. Even some fans joining Crossisback in the end zone, two bands, two sets of cheerleaders, brilliant sun, bright green grass. The students who didn't come back lost out on a lifetime memory. But I hope many will be saying "road trip!" this week and head to Philly.

According to the Stats on the HC athletics web page, Dobbs had 18 tackles -- 12 solo and 6 assisting. Also, Sluka's QBR was 161.4; 13 for 19 passing for 171 yards, and he rushed for a net of 90 yards as well. Sluka needs to play the lottery tonight. Three missed picks by SHU were fortunate. W is a W so take it and move on. We should have beat that team by 20. Middle of field was wide open all day but is what it is.

It’s known that Sluka does not feel comfortable making certain throws. You sacrifice that for his running ability. However when you play a team that figures out how to slow him you get the results that happened today. SHU offense was awful so next week could run away quick unless we come up with a way better game plan than we had today.

I would guess SHU had a couple thousand. Maybe 7k seems appropriate. Does this count walk up people? The line was pretty long there. Maybe this is the first time we underestimated attendance?

Sluka needs to play the lottery tonight. Three missed picks by SHU were fortunate. W is a W so take it and move on. We should have beat that team by 20. Middle of field was wide open all day but is what it is. OC play calling? The OC playcalling for Siderman was poor. His first play was a designed QB run; that is not his forte. Second play was an incomplete pass. Third play was a short pass to Oliver and Oliver was caught from behind, short of the first down marker. After the turnover, his first pass, into the wind, was thrown into double coverage, and he should have thrown it way. However, that route should not have been called as it likely would run a receiver into double coverage. If HC wanted to throw a bomb into the end zone, the route should have been to the corner or sideline, where the receiver can go one on one. The overall offensive playcalling was disappointingly poor. Very vanilla, very conservative. I don't recall any passes targeting a tight end.. No screen pass attempts. No gimmick plays just to mix things up for the defense. Twelve games into a season, there should be more plays in the playbook, because the opponents only get tougher. If the offense plays like it did today on Friday, HC will lose to 'Nova by four touchdowns.

I'm sure the interception didn't call for a throw behind the receiver into double coverage. These were two, evenly matched teams that beat the crap out of each other for 60 minutes. Enjoy it.

We've been sort of riding the razor's edge of playing 2 QBs all year....it's mostly been successful but it can pose problems continuity-wise etc
Game had a very "Merrimack" feel to it...we might have been too hyped up in general and/or sort of looking past SHU or both.
Villanova will be a tough test but I don't expect us to play that poorly offensively (penalties, forcing the issue etc) in back to back weeks.

Evenly matched between the PL and NEC champs (as expected) and we pulled it out at the very last second.
Next week will be very different v the CAA champs but that’s another story.

Which Sluka pass play makes the ESPN Top Ten?
The TD to Coker for the win, or the flip to Ayeni who was essentially quadruple-covered?

No way the attendance number they announced (4100 and change) was accurate. Definitely was in the 7k range. Not sure why they are lowballing this number. Maybe it doesn’t include walkups? Who knows. Whatever the case may be, we got the W!
