AL seems to still be limping just a bit. I hope she is OK (adrenaline gets you just so far with an injury before there is a price to pay). BPC's 3-3 from long range was important and she looked good in there (her block was also very nice).

No frosh played today. Has that happened this year before?

They seem to be making progress and preparing for league play. Avoiding injuries is key

IMHO, they looked the best of the year today. Now improve from here.

No frosh played today. Has that happened this year before? No, Munt and Berger played in all six prior games and Huber in five. Team got serious tonight and played like a team going places in the PL. Funny, URI definitely didn't live up to their hype. Hard for me to tell as a non-former coach or player whether it was HC's D, URI's off night or HC offense jelling with the core eight person rotation. Last year's Freshman class contributed three of the eight in the rotation. That was probably Ann McInerney's only true class she was fully responsible for. Thanks Ann.

Great win by the ladies - this 8 person rotation looks to be what we will use going forward- assuming good health and no major slumps among the group

Yes with room for bench contribution when the opponent is not as good. Maybe as tonight's game progressed and these eight showed they could play with and then dominate URI, coach threw out all thoughts of additional subs. I don't know, but she surely will want to get her three recruits some playing time this season.

Appears like she is trying to build confidence and a winning mindset and then plug in players as the season moves forward- just an opinion

Really liked what I saw from the ladies tonight. If the rebounding ended up a dead heat, or close to it (someone said 27-27, but there was still time left), that's incredible given what URI looked like they could do on the boards the first quarter or so.

Yes. We should notch the hat trick based on tonight's play. We beat Bucknell, Lehigh and Lafayette in FB. If we beat Villanova we get the deed to the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, as well.

Seems like the coaches got serious too. They SHOULD play the rotation (both in who and how many) that puts the team in best postion to win. If you're good enough to be in that rotation of 8 (or whatever the number may be) then you'll play. If not, be ready, play your role, and support your teammates and coaches. There will be opportunities along the way against other opponents where the rotation can be stretched--and it should be--for those players that don't see time. But if a coach leads with the mindset to appease complaining players or parents then that program will struggle to reach its potential. People will complain no matter what you do so you might as well build the rotation that helps the team find success. If Magarity just drew a line in the sand moving forward, then good for her. As long as she communicates her plans clearly to her players and continues to support the growth of all players regardless of playing time, then she is doing it right. Trying to appease everyone will avoid teaching the lessons so many of these young folks need to learn through athletics. They all looked good tonight, even the ones who didn't get in. I hope they can all step into their roles with positivity. If they can, should be a great season ahead.

The bench players were very animated along with everyone. The team definitely understood how well URI had played this year and were determined to defend the Hart, but when they began to understand they could compete and were actually better than the Rams, you could feel the excitement.

Have there been complaints about playing time by players on this team? We have some talented frosh, but that talent may still need time to develop. If there has been no complaining by the frosh, why create. something that may hurt teamwork? Any help on this would be appreciated.

This looks like a team that's being coached up. The freshmen seem talented and no doubt will contribute a great deal as the season continues, but Coach M had a sound rotation last night to beat a 7-1 team. BTW, my observation of the freshman on the bench, for what it's worth, is that they are ebullient and all in.

I watched most but not all of the game. In the beginning, URI looked every bit a 7-1 team but as Holy Cross hung around and took a lead and then the game was close, it appeared to me that the confidence in the Ram players started to ebb as if they thought we'd falter, When our ladies didn't falter, URI did and with each passing minute, our players looked more confident (especially when it got to double digit leads) and URI looked beat.

I don't see it as a surprise that they are near settled on their rotation - somewhere around 8/9 is pretty common. I do expect to see the 3 frosh to continue get some time as the season progress, for no more reason that injuries, even minor ones that keep you out a game or 2 are pretty common. I do think the staff does have a little (maybe very little) eye on the future. Need to get the frosh some time, even if to hammer home they need to improve to play D1. CM, like her predecessors has shown a willingness to play the Frosh, whether by necessity or talent, witness BPC & McCormack last season. In particular, Berger, who has shown pretty decent ability on the defensive end. But what do I know

I read somewhere that this win was against a top # 25 team. When was our last win vs such a highly ranked squad ?

One junior did leave the team but stay in school. Comments on playing time have been focused on the fact this game was the first that freshmen didn't play and the rotation solidified with a (current) core eight. This has been praised as good coaching.
