2 point loss! Thought we might pull it off. We probably had a dozen chances to go ahead but every time we tied, they went ahead. Avery tying it with 6 seconds left but then we had a very questionable foul that gave them 2 free throws that they made. With a little over 2 seconds, Avery's 3 shot missed. I think I would have let our Coleen take the shot but Brown deserved to win this game. Was hoping the ladies could pull a football Sacred Heart win at the last second. Totally confident if it went OT we would have won.

Brutal loss. Brown is not good at all. Disappointing after such a complete game against URI. They certainly play to the level of their competition at this point in the season. Reminds me of the BG coached teams.

I hope the team is excited to test themselves against Pitt.

HC13, you called it. A trap game and they fell into it. Agree that they are playing to the level of the competition. A 17-2 start is telling. They were not ready to compete today. For a road team (and a bad one at that) to come in on a Sunday for a noon start and absolutely jump on a home team is really something. When you don't come to compete with energy and focus, it's tough to win. They spend a lot of energy coming back and just didn't have it in them to finish. This is a game to grow from for both players and coaches.

Tough loss in a game we didn’t deserve to win - now dealing with 2 injuries to key players - testing the character of the team and ability of the coaches to get production from other players Seems it was the ‘kiss of death’ for coach M to taut Cross as our most improved player - she’s struggled as exemplified in her line today

Reminds me of the BG coached teams. McCormack completes the offense. Late in the game Cross had a wide open three from the corner. She was so anxious to not shoot (my projection) she traveled dribbling the ball towards the gathering congestion under the basket and turned it over.

Her shooting eye would have given us another option on the last possession.

And I don't think every player has to take every open 3. Cross has been a fine passer. Take the drive and dish off, could have worked

I was just projecting a reluctance to shoot when I watched the play.

She brings a lot of positives to the floor but is clearly a reluctant shooter, perhaps a poor shooter. But coach knows she needs Cross to play and take the open shots that defensives are going to challenge her to make. She'll need to accept that challenge and take those shots with confidence. She'll hit a big one this year at some point, no doubt. I hope she grows her confidence and makes those defenses pay. But she needs to take those shots without hesitation.

Great competitive game. Brown Coach is the all time winningest at Merrimack. BPC always in the right place! Don't know if it was mentioned that the new Brown coach, Monique LeBlanc, played for Bucknell from 1998-2002 and also coached there for three years. Was a solid rebounder and defender. Played 10 games vs HC, with the last one being a win in the championship game at the Hart.

Managed to land on her feet and has done quite well. She'll improve Brown for sure.

They looked a heckuva lot better than their record today. Was hoping for an Ocean State sweep after beating URI and Bryant. Kind of like our football team sweeping Connecticut. Oh well.

IMO, it's tougher to consistently beat the teams that you're favored to beat than to pull off an upset everyone once in awhile. To be good to the PL, HC has to win the games that they should win.

Did anyone catch the new promo videos for HC today. Appears that Megan, Zack, have finally retired.
Any thoughts?

Brown shot 31 pct today - their two previous wins were vs Bryant and Hartford, two absolutely horrible teams - they were not better than their record reflected but we certainly were We have 4 wins so far and 3 of them are vs terrible teams - today should have been the 4th such W The coach did not have them ready to play and that’s a reason for concern

You should be sure to pass that on to the coach. She may have been unaware that insight. Nice how you sidestepped the win over URI (7-1 at the time).

What is the case that Coach did have the team ready from "Jump Street," a phrase the announcer was in love with today, to adjust to McCormack being out and refocus after a euphoric upset of URI?

IMO, critical anaylsis of coaches or players is fair as long as it's not directed in a personal way. In fairness to Coach M, I am sure it's tough to have players healthy and contributing one day and out the next with injury/illness just as you're game planning and prepping. Also, I imagine it's very difficult to get a team to take an opponent (a perceived lesser one) seriously after a big win over a favored opponent......AND while emphasizing that the group get to bed early on a Saturday night on campus because your game is at noon on Sunday. The loss today is a shared responsibilty. Did they look ready to play? No. That's on everyone. But I suspect the players had a little more to do with it than the coaching staff. Just my view. I like everyone's comments on here....I am always learning and enjoy the different perspectives/views of the contributors here. In sum, the loss was disappointing. Onto to Cincinnati.......

That's the only good win of season, you have to agree - your expectations for our team with 4 seniors in the rotation are much lower then mine but that's your privilege

You seem to dismiss it as a "one off." Do you choose to ignore whatever does not fit your expectations? PS: I am not sure you have any idea of what my expectations are for this team. I'm still not sure what they are myself. Perhaps, since you understand them, you could explain my expectations to me.

The good news is if URI is generally in the same talent category as B.U. we can play with the Terriers and other good PL teams when healthy and focused so we potentially have some great games ahead of us. The OOC schedule is for this type of discovery and improvement afterwards. My expectations are crystal clear. We have a Sluka at point guard and we have an exciting season ahead.

They seemed out of control most of the game. Turnovers, rushed shots, terrible fakes (how many shots got rejected when a little finesse would have gotten them to the foul line?) blown layups, you name it.
