$450,000 check for playing San Jose State Hope we were able to get a CPI adjustment built into that agreement, but great marketing opportunity for HC in the greater Bay Area where Catholic High Schools are still strong and many more students have heard of BC than HC.

Whether that covers 100% of expenses (guessing it will), there are some unmeasurable benefits including getting Holy Cross' name out to the Bay area and west coast generally and a great experience for the players. For the few players we'll have from the west coast, it's a perk for them and their families.

Good move for Holy Cross, following up on the Colgate-Stanford game next year.
Unless you're Georgetown, PL teams are getting interest from larger schools in the non-conference.

I like the signing though I would have preferred Stanford or Cal.... it may be a more competitive game anyway.
God only knows if any of us will be here in 2029 but the Spartans weren't that good this year...5-7 in the Mountain West. They really don't draw a helluva lot bettah than us....their home games this year were all in the 13-17K range.

I'd be interested in just who is consulted at HC before we sign off on these games. The San Jose St game, like the Northern Illinois game in 2025 seem to targeting metro regions (SF, Chi) to bring HC national exposure. Anybody have any info on who gives the okay (or whom we could play) at HC on these games?

Anybody have any info on who gives the okay (or whom we could play) at HC on these games? They should come to Fitton. There are many FBS teams that barely draw better then us. With much larger schools. Bottom tier of the FBS is glorified FCS. It gets the same attention as the FCS zero. The national media needs to start taking a look at the FCS. It is very easy to knock it. But now you are seeing players like Cooper Kupp Eastern Washington be one of the best receivers in the NFL. You don't have to play in the SEC to be an NFL star. In fact SEC quarterbacks in the NFL. Very over hyped. Not always the best NFL careers.

$450,000 check for playing San Jose State Let's hope at the rate we're going 450K in 2029 is not worth 250K in 2021.

How come there is no announcement of this game on the official HC website?

How come there is no announcement of this game on the official HC website? Either because its a) not that big of a deal (compared to scheduling games v BC and Syracuse) or b) its not official yet

You don't have to play in the SEC to be an NFL star. In fact SEC quarterbacks in the NFL. Very over hyped. Not always the best NFL careers. Right now, no one in New England is over hyping any SEC quarterbacks Another hard to measure financial benefit is all the bay area alumni who will take the rare opportunity to see their Crusaders in person. They might feel warm and fuzzy about alma mater and write a check

Lots of big-time P5 college quarterbacks have been over-hyped heading into the NFL. Not just an SEC thing.
The quarterback position is the most difficult to project because it's the position where pure speed, strength and athletic ability directly translate the least to success. It's all about making the mental adjustments to adapt to the speed of the professional game. Some guys can do it, others can't.
It's similar to baseball where being rated 10/10 on all five of the major tools (hitting, hitting for power, speed, arm, defense) as a HS or international prospect means nothing if you can't move up the latter and adjust to the increase in competition accordingly.

DFW: Thanks for putting this together and passing it along. Nice to see this info in one spot. Quick note: I believe Bucknell is playing at Central Michigan next season. Other than that, I think this list is accurate as of today. Quick question: Any update on who Georgetown is going to add to their OOC schedule for next year? Last time I checked they needed to fill at least one week to make an 11 game schedule.
