You may have already seen this, but. if you remember the scandal over the 58-6 pasting this phony school by IMG Academy on national television (ESPN) last season, the result of an Ohio investigation may interest you. State investigators and the State department off education have found that the "school" was a scam. There was mono school, no faculty, just a few men who were looking to game the system. It's only purpose was to give athletes, some of whom were too old to play high school ball, another year of football and a better chance to gain a scholarship. There is now a 7 step plan to prevent another such scandal in Ohio., My question is, what state will be next? To me this is a new low for high school athletics. Something needs to be done on a national level to avoid this sort of scandal in the future.

To me, that is more shocking than the fraud perpetrated by the 'coach'.

Just to clarify, Bishop Sycamore was on the receiving end of the pasting, losing to IMG Academy 58-0. The game was this season, a few months ago.

If Bishop Suckamore was completely funded by private donors/investors and tuition, I am less concerned than if it was some kind of Charter School arrangement with State Funding. If someone wants to put together an alternative program for older kids who are past the age of consent to drop out of public school who have or haven't graduated or even an alternative supplemental program for kids that are still in accredited public or private schools or home schooling that focuses on a particular area such as sports or the arts, or any type of training that is OK. But if the kids are younger than that they should be in an accredited school program.

Apparently in looking at their paperwork as a school...the "site" of the school building was the coach's home address and there was only ONE student listed as attending. By almost any standard, this was a scam from day one.

Anyone see the 4 part HBO series on St. Frances of Baltimore? Worth watching.
A Baltimore Catholic hs in a bad area; a rich guy decided to fund the team; became the head coach with the previous head coach's blessing; and they got so good they got kicked out of the Maryland HS Athletic Assn and play a national schedule. They lost to Mater Dei with Bryce Young at QB; then later on in that season (2019, I guess) blew out IMG.

What's funny about the whole Bishop Sycamore saga is that anyone at ESPN with an internet connection could've done 2 minutes of research to see that they were a total sham. A quick visit to their MaxPreps page would've shown an 0-6 record for the 2020 season. All blowout losses...including a 56-6 loss to IMG Academy, the team they were matchup with on national TV.
