According to Campus Insiders announcers, in a pre-game interview with Peter, he said he is looking forward to coming back next season to lead the Crusaders.

Ok.
Wade is a really good QB too.

Was surprised to hear that on the broadcast--just matter of fact, not an announcement

His coming back is good for Pujals--not good for the program--in the long run. Now the season for breaking in the next QB is pushed back to 2018-2019. Maybe the thinking is that next season the NEW COACH will be breaking in!

This is difficult to watch.
I would be nervous about next week if we didn't show up to games we aren't supposed to.
I could see us losing to Georgetown and then beating Fordham.

Very happy to have PP back. We'll need his leadership with what will be a young O Line and receiving corps. Wade a more than capable backup who will at least will get to start his senior year in 2018.

If PP comes back Wade should have every opportunity to retain his starting role, especially if he has a good showing against FU and a good Spring and Fall camp. What's right is right. However, coming back as a redshirt senior kind of implies the job is yours come hell or high water. Don't recall a scenario exactly like this before at HC.
Is Guild coming back?

hcgrad94- You don't have to know HC football. You just have to know football.

As much as I like Wade, pujals is the better QB. Ctg must think so as well or he wouldn't have given pujals a redshirt year. Loyalty to school, coach and program is bringing pujals back.

Great news! PP and GG back next year give us a much better chance at a PL title. Then in 2018, Brown, Wade, Clifford and Degenhardt compete for starter job.

What I don't want to see is the creeping sentiment "Well if TG had his guys this year....things would have been different etc etc".....it's more than time for a head coaching change.

I am a long time reader and first time poster. Is there a possibility that next year's presumed new coaching staff may look beyond pp and instead opt to invest in the future by playing younger players? Any new coach will be evaluated on wins and losses in years 3 and 4 vs year 1. First year a new coach is often given a "pass" at least at the FCS level. Year one is a year to develop young talent and develop "system"? Thoughts?

Welcome, BP Very doubtful Coaches are paid to win as soon as possible. Any coach would play the best player at each position, regardless of class. There are only 11 games.

As are 2 of the starting OL. Who? None of the five linemen-- Kosharek, Piker, Murray, Griffin, Hudgins played in any games as freshmen but the roster bios do not say whether that was due to injuries, and I believe that is the requirement for PL red shirting

This was "the year" Gilmore had to make hay ...lot of returning stahhtahs etc....yes, we had injuries, but that's part of the equation going in imo...here we are 4-6 going into the Fordham game...seriously, how many years/excuses is this guy going to get???

I can't believe that any coach would bench a strong, all-league player and proven team leader to play younger, less-experienced players, no matter what his system was or what plans he had for the future.

Well, he may get at least one more but that will not be known until after the Fordham game and season conclude. I agree with what was posted some time back...with a win at YS, the odds are 50/50. With a bad loss, they jump to about 10/90 regarding a return.

Again, there should be a fair competion for the starting QB job no matter what. It should not automatically be given to PP just because he's coming back for another semester. This takes all the other questions and concerns out of play. PP and all the other QBs should be told this at the end of the season. All of them work hard and deserve that. Moreover, Wade has done an outstanding job, equal to or better than PP when adjusting for game experience, and he is only going to get better with more game reps and physical development. What you don't want is for players to transfer. Give them a raw deal and they will.
