Loyola has on its staff one of just two female assistant coaches in NCAA DI Men's Basketball in Corin 'Tiny' Adams. She was 2010 MEAC player of the year at Morgan State.
We will need to find a way to stop standout 6-4 JR guard Cam Spencer, a product of Boys Latin in Baltimore. He's averaging 18.5ppg with a high of 32 against College of Charleston. He also put up 26 against both Mt. St. Mary's and Army.
LU's 2nd leading scorer, SR guard Jaylin Andrews, ALSO is a product of Boys Latin.

Spencer has always impressed; seems like he operates under the radar a bit (maybe because he's had some injuries). When healthy he's Javante McCoy like.
I have a suggestion for Coach Nelson (I'm sure he's anxiously awaiting an email from me): if they can somehow, someway stay close in this game, be prepared to use Rabs to play Hack a Dike with Golden Dike down the stretch (maybe the the end of the first half too if the situation warrants it). Not a good free throw shooter.
Speaking of bigs, is anyone else not crazy with GG playing the 5? One thing our beloved PL has are some sizable lads manning the 5 spot. Seems unfair to ask GG to guard the likes of Dike, Screen, Mathon, Quinn, and others. I know I'll be going nuts tomorrow night if Louth isn't in the game before the first media timeout.

I agree using GG at the 5 seems a misuse of his talents. Without a serviceable big man (or two) you can't prosper in the PL. I would play Louth and Rabs and live with their mistakes.

GG plays the 5 on offense because that is where he can score from. He plays it on D since Nelson as of now does not have confidence in Louth or Mike for extended minutes. Louth seems the better option, but on offense he also needs to be close to the hoop, this clogging the area for GG.

Although they lost the very talented (6'11) Aldama (NBA first rounder), Loyola reloaded in the height category with the 6'10 Ilic twins from Serbia. They're just frosh (and not nearly as talented as Aldama) but I think we'll have a tough time with them (one of them was the Patriot Rookie of the Week earlier).

Not a good free throw shooter. You're being generous. But it might be more accurate to say he is a terrible free throw shooter. He was 19-64 (.297) last year and is 0-8 thus far this year. Loyola on many occasions has subbed him out late in close games when intentional fouls are possible.

Knowing Rabs' track record, he'll be out with an injury and not available for "hack duty". Hope I'm being overly down on the young man, but he sure misses a lot of games.

If Louth and Rabs are both healthy at the same time it would be interesting to try a "two Winnebago three minute offense" to just pound the ball inside for a spurt with one big guy shooting and the other big guy right there on the other side of the basket so both sides are covered for a rebound and put back.

An actuary would tell you that it doesn't work this way because it is not random picks like flipping a coin. That's why a driver who has not had an accident in say 100,000 miles is not as likely to have an accident in the next 25,000 than someone who has had 2 accidents in the prior 100,000 miles. But, you already knew that!

Fair to say we are not off to a good start? Shooting poorly and lots of easy buckets for Loyola. Their height is a killer.

You can't blame the coach if the players can't put the ball in the basket. We have open shots and still miss.
