Condolences to Bison 137, but exciting for HC and other middle of the pack teams. What's great about the Crusaders this year is you can see the potential for even seniors like Cross and Demski to improve as the season proceeds and increase their contribution to the team.

I was going to publicly guffaw at the "middle of the pack" description of the Crusaders but realized this is the women's basketball thread, not the men's.

LS, Cross is the only junior on the roster and not one of the 4 seniors that we're relying on - she is a key player going forward and we will need her to continue to improve her offense during the league season

I guess Petro and Demski are Seniors who could get better as the season progresses.

Bucknell stumbles again, this time to Navy, 57-55. Navy played like they did the last 3 qtrs vs HC, held on despite a very controversial call giving Bu the ball & a chance to tie or win at the end.
Lehigh holds on to beat AWP 62-55.

That ball was definitely off of the Bucknell forward, wasn't it HC13? Although I don't think the officials had the luxury of seeing the TV broadcast angle we could see that seemed pretty definitive. They had the far off sideline angle view which was much more favorable to Bucknell.

In tonight's marquee game BU leads Bucknell 27-19 at the half. Bucknell after being up 15-7 after one went scoreless for 8 mins in the 2nd qtr, HC13, what happened to BU's Riley Childs; she seems to have disappeared in the middle of the Army game on 1/12? No mention anywhere what injury (I assume) she suffered, looked at several game reports/notes. Three or maybe four year starter.

Apparently, Bu is like HC - little or no info - I think at some point the announcers said she was unavailable- a write - up in the Globe on 1/28/22 said she was out for the foreseeable future w/ an injury, but may be back.

Childs went out with an injury to her right hand (thumb maybe?). You can see her with a soft cast on it. It's possible she returns. And it might be this weekend for their big game against Lehigh. BU doesn't share much.

Long way to go, but there’s at least some chance we could wind up hosting the PL title game this year. Better not be any crowd restrictions by that point if we do.

After they put out that tease about Winter Homecoming combined with rapidly decreasing cases, one would think there'd be crowds in a couple weeks. However......

HC now tied for FIRST! Lehigh holds on for a 68-65 win & sweep of BU I think this result is good for today. But I am wondering if we'll be looking back thinking it would have been better for BU-Lehigh to split.

But I am wondering if we'll be looking back thinking it would have been better for BU-Lehigh to split. Yes, of course better to finish as high as you can in the standings, including, of course, first, but.... I'd much prefer any scenario where HC has to travel to BU versus Lehigh, Bucknell or AU. A road game at BU, in addition to travel being a non-factor; has the potential of being a 50/50 crowd; including people that right now cannot go to a game at HC.

In first place at mid season in a second sport this academic year? Kit must feel like the pitcher who throws his glove at a screaming line drive back to the mound and says "look what I found."😊 I hope our band director is still employed and has the band ready to go when the all clear is sounded. What would be the policy on the band traveling to an open gym for a nearby away game if the Hart is still off limits?
