Will the contenders be sending in selections privately? I'm not one of them but I'd hate to see the last picker undercut an opponent by one point.....

Will the contenders be sending in selections privately? I'm not one of them but I'd hate to see the last picker undercut an opponent by one point..... Or the guy one win back picking contrarian to the guy ahead of him...a large group of friends and I would enter a knockout pool at a local bar every year. Essentially we would pool all of our picks, spend the week emailing back and forth about that week's matchup, then decide how to allocate our picks to spread the risk. One year the regular season concluded with several entries tied and we all elected to continue it through the playoffs. We got to the Super Bowl and there were 3 entries left. While the pool was pretty big, we had no interest in splitting it 3 ways, then splitting our share 8 ways, so we decided no matter who we felt would win the game, if the other 2 entries picked the same, we would pick the opposite team. Apparently the other 2 finalists had Super Bowl parties to go to so I strolled in mid afternoon, saw they had picked the same and went contrarian and the Saints won us alot of money that year. I didn't agree with the bar leaving the picks up for all to see, but if we were the only ones to figure out how to use that to our advantage, so be it.

I won a big pot in a super bowl pool at a bar where you didn't have to be present and I wasn't when the winner was chosen. Several people told me it was expected for me to basically give it all back by buying rounds for everyone in the bar. I made sure I was there when they opened the next morning to collect my envelope. There was one guy with the shakes, plus me waiting for the bar to open. I slapped a sawbuck on the bar for whatever he wanted and got the heck out of there.

Looks like my “strategery” contrarian pick of Montana State is not paying off.

At practice....looks like Touchdown Tommy got hurt Injured on the first drive (after a couple of good plays) and that killed the drive...and their chances.

2nd championship game in a row where a star QB went down in the first quarter.
In April, South Dakota State lost Gronowski to a an ACL tear on 2nd series...and still nearly won the game. Gronowksi ended up missing all of the fall season.
Too bad, I was really excited to watch Tommy Football and see another champ not named NDSU crowned. 9 out of 11 titles-- mind-boggling.

At some point, the NDSU program/community has to reach the Peggy Lee "Is that all there is?" level, no?

At practice....looks like Touchdown Tommy got hurt Injured on the first drive (after a couple of good plays) and that killed the drive...and their chances. And the 'second string' who had been the starter for most of the season entered the transfer portal two days ago. So Montana State is now way down in the depth chart after the first series. A hypothetical analogy would be Sluka going down in the first series with a leg injury, Siderman having declared for the portal cannot replace him, and an inexperienced Pesansky or Wiegel is brought in to finish the remaining 55 minutes of the game. Up the creek?

Up the creek? First string to third string was huge for Montana State (already the underdog). With no schollie QB’s available (portal, injury, and redshirt) and not trusting the walk-ons, LSU used a receiver (who had played high school QB four years previously) for their ENTIRE bowl game last week. Lost by 3 TDs. (To be fair, the guy was quite an athlete and no doubt better than the walk-ons).
