I know with the pandemic last year we saw coaches dressing more casually with usually a half-zip and some khakis but this season I have seen some even more disturbing trends. I have seen coaches in full sweatsuits with a hoodie on and sweatpants on the sidelines. What do you think of this trend? I think the bare minimum should be Khakis and a half-zip thing with the school logo on it.

Silliest are coaches in business suits

It’s Division 3 women’s basketball. Does wearing a team sweatsuit really matter?

Are you really criticizing what our female women's basketball is wearing? That is really unacceptable

Who gives a rat's ass what a coach wears.
Do everyone a solid and go post somewhere else.
This will go down as the most pointless thread of the year here, and that's saying a lot.

Obviously the schools have to decide whether they want to dictate how their coaches dress during games. I suspect most ADs would step in if the attire goes too far toward the gymwear. The logo zip down pullover is a pretty standard look these days. A hoodie is probably too casual for most.

If a hoodie is good enough for Bill Belichick, why isn't it good enough for any college coach? He makes a ton of money more than the college coaches we encounter.
I'd rather we have a coach who dresses like a homeless person and wins than some Dapper Dan who looks great but can't win a game. But, that's just me.

He’s won a gazillion Super Bowls (0 without Brady) so no one is going to say anything even if he dresses like a hobo.

NBA kind of going the same way, too as college.
Hockey still is suit sport. At least at the pro level.
Is there a coach left in football that wears a suit or, even more from the past; a dress coat on top of that? Don't see anyone complaining about that.
Of course, in baseball we still have non-players wearing full uniforms, which is a bit puzzling.

Yes, Jay Wright is still fashionable in his attire.
If you have noticed, with Holy Cross, both the men’s and women’s basketball coaching staffs have worn coordinated attire this season with a rotation of either purple, black, gray or white sweaters, with black, gray or tan pants. Even the managers at Holy Cross have coordinated game day outfits as well.

Holy Cross Men’s Basketball staff in coordinated attire.
From this video, you can see the Holy Cross Men’s Coaching staff wearing coordinated attire with tan pants, with a White Sweater with gray at the LaSalle game.

Not to nitpick, but Regis is in Weston, MA. not Weston, RI. I'm sure it was your intern's mistake.

I must admit it took me a bit to get used to the new look for coaches...just such a 180 degree change.
What does annoy me some is seeing 10 different styled/colored shoes of the players in just about any game I watch. Not a fan of that.

Is there a coach left in football that wears a suit or, even more from the past; a dress coat on top of that? Don't see anyone complaining about that. In 2005, then-San Francisco 49ers head coach Mike Nolan attempted to “class up” the sideline as well as honor his father by wearing a suit. The league denied him this opportunity. In a story about Nolan’s quest, The LA Times discovered that Reebok is “why Nolan can’t wear a dress shirt, sport coat or tie — because the sportswear giant doesn’t currently make any of those items.” www.sportscasting.com/heres-why-nfl-coaches-wear-sweats-not-suits-on-the-sideline/
