Either the PL is gonna be better than expected, or a lot of rust needs to be knocked off the big boys.
UConnvict lost at home to Wagner by 9 also.

Based on tonight alone, I am not as sure Bucknell beat a weak Manhattan team. lehigh played well in a loss to a strong X american lost to a mid level ACC

American lost by six to a top 25 Big Ten team. Pomeroy has md as 48 If HC hung within 6 at UMD would you be poo-pooing it? So by your reasoning if HC hangs with SC Sunday it'll be no big deal since SC in 63rd by KenPom-no?

Bucknell beat a weak Manhattan team. I th ink you're wrong on Manhattan. They are generally picked for 5th or 6th (out of 11) in the MAAC, not great but not weak. They have added three big men they didn't have last year - one of whom is 7-2 and surprisingly athletic. Also added two fairly good guards, one of whom was the MAC FOY a couple of years ago, plus a highly-regarded wing who has been hurt the last two years. I think they will be better than at least 5 or 6 PL teams Fwiw, Pomeroy had Manhattan ranked well ahead of nine PL teams going into the game tonight.

Based on tonight alone, I am not as sure Bucknell beat a weak Manhattan team. lehigh played well in a loss to a strong X american lost to a mid level ACC As mentioned above, Maryland is in the Big 10, not ACC. And AU started two freshmen, Sa'eed Nelson at the point and Mark Gasperini at center, who played 35 and 24 minutes, respectively, along with sophomores Delante Jones and James Washington. Nelson scored 12 points and had no turnovers in his first-ever college game; Gasperini had 14 points and 3 boards. AU led by four with seven minutes left and had several chances to expand the lead, but missed some key shots. AU was only down one with four minutes left. Maryland's size led to a 44-22 rebounding edge and Melo Trimble made some big plays down the stretch. I'm very, very pleased and would never dismiss a PL team playing even on the road against a top 25 team.

Army lost by 14. Lafayette lost by 40 www.espn.com/mens-college-basketball/recap?gameId=400915216I don't think CMB ever reached the quality of the those explanations. Announced attendance 3134 _________________________ Harvard lost 80-70 to Stanford in Shanghai. Stanford led by younger and bigger brother (Reid) of former Harvard player, Jonah Travis.

I think the top half of the league will be pretty good; can the bottom half avoid being really bad? The Army score surprised me, and Navy hung in there with OSU.

pretty good night for the pl, with very impressive performances from both lehigh and american in close losses to top 25 teams. kempton is a beast and i think his performance last night is yet another piece of evidence for how incredible our pl tournament championship was.
melo trimble is one of the toughest point guards in america, and had a good game last night, but the fact that nelson was able to hold his own against him is impressive. although the fact that brennan could keep his guys competitive against a terrible game coach (mark turgeon) is not that surprising to me. american will be a threat in the pl again very soon, if not this year.
