Kevin Bettencourt may still have a grudge against HC for not giving him a basketball scholarship. Ralph decided on another player. Good point Crucis. In terms of the overall PL, though, he may have choices. I feel like there could be a lot of coaching turnover after this year, or maybe none at all. Thinking quickly, would have to think DeChellis, Allen, Hardy and Dr. Reed are probably staying put, but after that: Joe Jones - BU doesn't seem to care much about hoops, but if they disappoint again? Matt Langel - if he gets Colgate back to the dance, will it then be time for him to leave? Nathan Davis - read Bucknell board lol Mike Brennan - read AU board lol FOH - he has to retire at some point, doesn't he? CBN - no comment "No Comment" Are you coining a new nickname for our coach? 😇

Wouldn’t be great (for us) if both Bucknell and HC jobs are open at the same time. Similar candidates and Bucknell is a better job. I've never been in either joint, but Bucknell's Sjolka (sp?) Pavilion looks much better on TV than the Hart Center to this occasional observer. Bucknell also generally seems to play a more challenging OOC schedule and has certainly had superior results over the past decade or so. Any other reasons why you think it's a better job? You cannot even begin to compare the two of them. Even with the Hart's renovations, Sojka is still superior.

Bucknell also seems to give their coaches a chance, and we churn through as fast as any program in the country (assuming BN is let go). I’d even argue we’d be behind AU in terms of job preference for a really great candidate looking at the PL. Brennen has been given a lot of time to prove himself. A new coach will see that.

No doubt we are at or near the bottom of the PL using many metrics. But we have a new energetic President and AD. They have no ownership of the current status of the program. The ball is in their court. This time next year they will own the status of the program so they should be allowed to pull or not pull the levers they choose.

The best thing that happened MIGHT be Kit It is time to totally shift from the old mindset Double salaries and recruiting budgets Hire and retain the best coaches Get a top grade schedule Keep our players because the Holy Cross brand is their future FAD Pine didn't have to double the salary to get Chesney. He often gets no love but in that instance he was a smart talent evaluator rather than a drunken sailor with a bottomless check book. I don't understand what would have to be cut at HC to double spending in the athletic dept. I don't think the endowment will be invaded based on Pak's frequent writing on the subject. I'm not in favor of cutting any sports to double salaries but instead would like to see successful winning coaches in lower divisions be offered incentive laden "earn it" contracts that protect HC in case early termination is required and keeps HC's powder dry to handsomely reward coaches who show they can win at HC. A salary may end up doubled, but only when the coach has turned a program around and won. I know you have inferred there are deep pocketed heavy hitters who can fund significant increased spending. If they step forward, spend at will. But that hasn't happened at UConn. They are running $40 million a year deficits with no Thurston Howell from Greenwich stepping forward to pick up the tab. My sense is that it is easier to find heavy hitters to give enough in a one shot donation to name a building then find heavy hitters to fund increased operating expenses year after year. And I think the current CAF is factored into the current budget, despite assurances when it was launched that every penny would go for extras. That's my two cents, and I'm not doubling it to four cents.😊

If HC wins it could kick start the long awaited turn around if it's followed up upon. No seat is hotter than in what was dubbed by the Convention and Visitors Bureau as the "Paris of the Nineties," Worcester, Mass. 80's not 90's, and that was arguably the most foolish marketing campaign of all time. My favorite aspect of that slogan is its implication that the original Paris no longer existed.

Road Warrior is a good monicker as the Bison faithful used to paint the section behind their bench in the Hart orange and are the only road team I can think of that brought their cheerleaders to a basketball game against Holy Cross.

The fan who posts as Bison Road Warrior has attended every Bison NCAA and NIT game even though he lives in Texas. NCAA/NIT games have been in Atlanta, Dallas (3), OKC, (2), DC, Lexington, Buffalo, Detroit, Arizona, Reno, Philly, NJ. Usually is also there for PLT games and a couple of road trips during the regular season. He could tell you how many games/miles he averages per year.

They were a good presence at a game! (Perhaps they still are, if RoadWarrior is an example.)
