I've thought Martindale was the reincarnation of Jordan Stevens. Well regarded small forward with excellent offers, jump shooting scoring was his calling card. I was really excited to see them choose HC. As frosh, AIR, Jordan had a new coach and I thought he should have had more opportunity, Martindale early on looked like a scorer and nothing afterwards. To me, Jordan looked like he had stolen someone else's body the summer before junior year and did his best to play in it. Maybe injury never healed. Martindale has some time to change his trajectory, best wishes. I was thinking more of Adam May

Martindale averaged 22.5 vs D3 competition and 7.2 vs D1 competition. Agree with others on the board that he appeared to lose his "mojo" and experienced a bit of a sophomore jinx. Injury related? He looked promising as a scorer as a freshman. I never like to see kids leave HC for any reason. I wish him well and hope, as we all do, that Nelson can back fill him with greater talent.

A kid from UNH, Sloan Seymour, has entered the portal for the 3rd time. I believe he has two years of eligibility left. Started at Siena, followed his coach to GW, left there and spent one year at UNH. I am guessing he sat out a year at GW and got an extra year due to Covid. He used his one time don't sit out a year exemption this season. He will not be playing D-I basketball next year. With four years of college under his belt, he would have to lose a lot of credits to not get his degree next year. I don't seem him going anywhere basketball wise that does not have a grad school

He could serve as window dressing for a coach who is facing criticism that he can't recruit or retain bigs and has vacancies to fill based on his own defections.

So tough to tell how even top HS recruits will do in college. Noah Collier, a 6'8" forward, entered the Transfer Portal after two years at Pitt. Here is an article written about him when he signed with Pitt: www.cardiachill.com/2019/9/23/20881037/noah-collier-pitt-panthers-basketball-commit-6-7-four-star-power-forward-westtown-school-jeff-capelESPN rated him the 26th best power forward in the country coming out of HS. "Collier received 16 offers over the course of his recruitment and chose Pitt over the likes of California, Clemson, Maryland, Penn State, Seton Hall, Syracuse, Temple, UConn, Virginia and Xavier." He averaged 1.3 points and 1.6 rebounds per game over 44 career game (two starts) for the Panthers.

Work habits are often considered far less than stats and reputation.

According to two Pittsburgh sports writers, he can't shoot the ball from more than 5 feet from the hoop. He was 6-19 this year from the charity stripe. Makes you wonder how a kid who can't shoot worth a lick can be ranked the 23rd best PF in his recruiting class.

Martindale and Humphrey combined for 40% of our 3FGA, so can see a spot for a distance shooter, especially if he can actually . . . shoot. Roster already has three guys 6-2 and under.
In UNH's win over HC last November, Foster came off the bench and scored 11 points in 14 minutes on 4-8 (3-5) shooting.

Maybe Foley can give us a scouting report on Foster.

Maybe Foley can give us a scouting report on Foster. Unfortunately, Foley is likely talking with Foster right now.......

Maybe Foley can give us a scouting report on Foster. It'll be like Ron Borges' review of the playing ability of a NFL free agent. When the guy was available to any team "Cream of the crop" When the Pats signed him "Overrated"

Priority 1, 2, and 3 is a serviceable big man. Without question. With 2 new scholarships to offer, get 2 6:8 and taller transfers ( one who can block shots and rebound and one who makes lots of layups). Either sophomores or seniors to be. The current roster would improve quite a bit with 2 new senior bigs in the rotation. KOT 72

Easy peasy They grow on trees My thoughts exactly. I also think you have to earn a certain number of credits at HC for a degree and I don't think a senior to be would meet that requirement.

If the school was willing to take a senior transfer (which I kind of doubt) there is almost zero chance the kid could graduate in one year.. But the kid gets an extra year of eligibility because of the 2020-21 season Just find that smart, big, athletic senior who wants to transfer after 3 years at his current school

According to the HC website, to receive a Holy Cross degree you must take at least half of your courses from HC.

Particularly ones that qualify under the AI. How does the AI apply to transfers? For students who have completed less than three college semesters, the AI will be calculatedusing the students SAT score, plus high school rank, plus grades/rank from their first year in college. After students have completed three or more semesters of college, then the only thing that matters is there GPA or class rank.

Easy peasy They grow on trees Particularly ones that qualify under the AI. This is the type of kid we could use.......I'll dream on Justin Vander Bann, a BC 7 footer and cousin of AVB... HE IS NOT IN THE PORTAL ....He played in 11 games this season.. but is the type of player we could get IF HE DECIDED TO ENTER THE PORTAL.... I CAN DREAM OF A DECENT 7 FOOTER!!!!
