They don't play PL basketball but if you want to read some real hand-wringing, visit the Georgetown board. I throw that out since they are a fellow PL school. You have to wonder if the John Thompson era was a one-off for Hoya hoops much like the Calipari era at UMass with all due respect to Jack Leeman.

And just for the record, JT's success had nothing to do with Georgetown's being a great university.

Possible that our neighbor UConn may not be able to duplicate national championship level play after Calhoun (last championship within the Calhoun aura/era) and Geno. There is honor in trying earnestly to replicate it, but not with $47 million annual deficits and $11 million buyouts. HC paid $100 for a couple of attractive banners commemorating their 1947 and 1954 championships and strategically coordinated their placement with the camera locations at the Hart to receive thousands of dollars worth of air time on ESPN+, CBS Sports, NBC Boston, NESN, Spectrum Sports segments, etc. That's smaht.

Hurley has them at 14-4, #20 so maybe they will win another one but I hope they figure out how to do it with less red ink.
