Why leave the MAAC and go to the PL. Doesn't make sense. Uh, a local team did just that.

As long as Pitino stays at Iona(realize it probably will not be long) it will be hard for St.Peter’s to win the MAAC

If there's a change at the end of the season, the St. Peter's coach, Shaheen Holloway (sp?) who played at Seton Hall, has done a great job. his team played Iona very tough today - post game from Pitino: Rick Pitino on Saint Peter’s: “They’re the toughest team we’ve faced since I’ve been here, last year and this year. He is a great coach. I didn’t know how good of a coach he was until we played them today.” I met Shaheen when he played in HS. Fine young man. He was very close to George Blaney when he played for him at Seton Hall. I spoke to Shaheen when he was Kevin Willard’s assistant at SH. Very impressive person.

Agree with you about the quality of the man and was and remains special to George
He would get us involved in the NYC/NJ areas again, and he was fun to watch at the point

I'd think Kevin Willard will be a pretty serious candidate for the Maryland, Louisville jobs. If he were to leave, Shaheen will be heavily considered by Seton Hall. Unfortunately, we did not snag him a few years ago.

Given recent developments, the ball is indeed in Kit's court. Cut bait & lock in the next head coach. Make a statement hire. This program desperately needs something to change it's trajectory.

The further away the program appears in the rear view mirror, the harder it is going to be to recover. And, I don't see the things changing in college basketball that will make it any easier for the little guys. Something has to be done pronto.

The college basketball landscape has changed and it's time that HC adapts. The transfer portal has not been too forgiving in recent years (Gates being the exception), but it also provides an avenue to a quicker rebuild. Does Admissions comply? A question for another day. The program needs a jolt of energy - a recruiter, tactician and a credible track record of head coaching experience. We'll have our favorites when that time comes, but Kit needs to pull the trigger.

I think Nelson is safe for the weekend--would HC jettison him on the 75th anniversary of the NCAA Championship?

What better time to make a statement about the importance of the program?

Wow - I would love to see it but even Torey is going to need some time to turn this around.
I just wouldn't want it to end bad because I liked him so much as a player.
He is one of the most engaging guys I have ever met. His presence alone will help and he would reach out to the fans
Bring in an older coach as an assistant to maybe help with the x's and o's and this could work - a Phil Martelli type at Michigan (not Phil Martelli - but you get my point)

Torey has played enough basketball in his life at all levels that he won't need "help" with the Xs and Os. He knows the game.

Let's do this!

It's obvious he very much cares about the program; gotta figure out a way to get him back in some capacity.

Torey reminds me of a guy that's coaching a game tonight in Philly.

Nice statement by my all-time favorite Crusader basketball player!! I hope Torey is on the phone with Kut Hughes as I type this Yes, but RJ has been on the bench for three years. Has he been so quiet that Torey forgot him? Does BN require radio silence from the program? If Torey coached under Andy Sachs it would work because Andy would know TT is a great ambassador for the program whereas a head coach who didn't know Torey might be threatened by his jack in the box energy.

I think Nelson is safe for the weekend--would HC jettison him on the 75th anniversary of the NCAA Championship? Unless RP Sr. stopped by the office today to remind them, I doubt any of the current crop in the athletic offices even realizes this.
