Question about this campaign for anyone who might know. The announcement indicates that they have commitments for $1.4 million which, I suspect, is not all expected in this fiscal year. Does the $750,000 being sought before April include some of the $1.4 million or is it in addition to those funds?

My understanding is it's in addition to the 1.4M.

Looking at the web site for the campaign, it doesn’t seem to be something people are excited about. Since I contributed on Saturday there have been a very, very small number of additional contributions. Kit Hughes did contribute after I did.

I can provide some clarity on this as it's a bit confusing: For rounding purposes, the math is as followed:
A majority of the ~1.5M in commitments are over 5 years. However, several donors wanted to do a lump sum gift now and front load the commitment in years 1 and/or 2. I don't have the exact numbers but I expect around ~300k is committed for FY 22 and 23 and ~250k in years 3-5. Again, the end goal is 3.75M over the next five years so divided by 5 is 750k per year.
As for what is reflected on the web page, the ~160k as of this morning is all "cash in" for FY 22'. From an operational standpoint, we can only show cash that has been deposited into the account. Per my understanding, about half of the 300k committed for this year has not been reflected/actually donated yet.
So assuming all those commitments come in by end of June (preferably by a April 15th) that would be another ~150k in cash on hand. Therefore, the actual number today is likely slightly over 300k in our attempt to raise 750k this fiscal year. In years past, most football donations each Fiscal year come in around the football banquet (mid April) and June Golf Tourney. The idea was to get as close to 750k by mid April so we have a realistic possibility of hitting our goal by end of the June.
By way of comparison, the rolling average of Gridiron Club donations had been ~250k over the past 5 years with FY 2021 being the high water mark of ~300k. So the 750k is 3X our past 5 year "run rate" and definitely a "stretch goal" but that's what it's going to take. Direct mailers and other marketing to align with signing day traffic is in the works.

I have donated a number of times to the football team in the past couple of years and show up as a donor here even though I did not give specifically to “Fueling”. I think I should make another donation to keep myself honest. It’s nice to see that even some current players have participated

Felt good to make a small donation to a very worthy cause. Nice to see so many familiar names on the list as well as lots of parents of current players.

Total number jumped by ~38k and 5 "new" donors in the past 24 hours. I know of one very generous check that arrived last week. Also, could be a couple silent phase existing donors that completed their calendar 2022 donation. I know several planned to spread their FY 2022 contribution over both 2021 and 2022 calendar years. I expect more of this as tax prep begins.

I donated. Let’s go everybody. Can’t be a part of winning the lottery if you don’t buy a ticket. Now’s the time to show how much you really care about Holy Cross football and what Coach Chesney and his staff have done to bring back respectability to the program. Whatever you can afford. Thanks in advance!

Holy Cross is moving forward while the rest of the league moves in retrograde.
Two schools didn't even post a release after signing day.

The momentum dollars posted are cash received, do we know the number in outstanding pledges?
What impact do they believe this will have, if any, on the CAF football receipts and as a result the operating budget for football?

Is their a $ or % goal from all former players?
Perhaps set a competition among former players/teams by percentage of participation
Start with freshmen rosters by class
I just checked on my former companies retirement matching gifts
That can help match the gifts by 50-100%
Do we have an alum or many alums willing to match to a certain level
If so, lets include all sports

All, I gave a pretty detailed breakdown above on page 2 but as it relates to Fueling the Momentum v CAF (Gridiron Club), they are now functionally the same thing. All the $$ raised is going into the SAME account. Fueling Momentum is about brining awareness to the supplemental needs of the football program in order to continue to build a Tier 1 FCS program (facilities, enhanced year round nutrition, coaching salaries etc.) which will require supplemental dollars over the next 5 years.
So if a check arrives paid to the order of "The Gridiron Club/CAF" it will be reflected in the Fueling Campaign once the check is deposited (could have very well happened on Friday).
Don't overthink this...We need to raise 3.75M over the next 5 years ...This is roughly 3 times what the football program had been averaging the past 5 years. 3.75M divided by 5 years is a 750k FY run rate. As of this morning ~205k is ALL the money ACTUALLY DEPOSITED for the football program thus far in FY 2022 (whether someone donated through the Fueling campaign web portal OR the CAF/GC)

When I made my FTM donation, I got a thank you from the CAF and I was like WTF. Good to know it’s all going to the same place.

How is HC allocating the funds (coaches salaries, training table, etc.) I think if Alums knew how HC was spreading the wealth it would help grease some pockets, JMHO.

See above. I am unable to give you an itemized breakdown of those 5 "Next Level Needs" but this is specifically where these incremental funds will be allocated. Someone in another thread asked about an increased recruiting budget and as you can see that is not listed. Therefore, if the recruiting budget is indeed being increased that is a cost the college is subsidizing entirely on it's own (among others needs).

Today's Crusader Athletic Fund giving day reminded me that this Fueling the Momentum football campaign was out there as well. I see that it is at $361,000+ cash in the door for this fiscal year against a goal of $750,000. Today's campaign has football gifts totalling another $32000. I assume that these funds are not yet reflected in the Fueling the Momentum campaign.
Give what you can afford to football or another team!!

I gave a little to football and then noticed seven other sports have matching anonymous donors, so you can double your gift today for those sports. Double or single, FB has the highest R.O.I. right now. Naturally I wondered if the anonymous matching donor for women's lacrosse has the same last name as the women's lacrosse head coach.🙂
