How is this different than the “regular” Football carve-out in the Crusader Athletics Fund?
The description of the “campaign” reads exactly like what I would expect funds to be going toward every year.

Gentlemen, many worked very hard over the holidays to make this happen. Lets go!!
And to clarify, this is a dedicated supplemental funding effort and while the funds will end up in the same "account" and there are some synergies with goals, incremental investments are being made NOW per these commitments. The idea was to give HC football the "sustainable infrastructure" to think and plan for the next 5 years. If we want to accomplish what Coach Ches' is selling "Ivy league degree with ACC facilities"....THIS IS WHAT IT WILL TAKE. ~3.75M over the next 5 years is not a number they pulled out of thin air. There was intent, purpose and planning in all of this. Now, let's get it done.
DM me with any other specific questions.

Not sure how I fell off the emails from the Coach and Football program, but glad it was posted here or probably would not have seen this.

To me, 'sustainable infrastructure' sounds like an endowment, or quasi-endowment, in which there is an annual distribution of a percentage of the funding total in the account. If an endowment fund had a value of $5 million, and there was a five percent annual distribution, that would provide $250,000 every year for football, in addition to any monies raised by the CAF.

Campaign is up on the football landing page, website and emails were first. Social media launch soon to follow...Facebook/Instagram, Twitter etc. If you have an account, keep a look out.

Is there any likelihood of an endowed football coach chair?

Is there any likelihood of an endowed football coach chair? Per my close but not "insider" knowledge, a bit premature for formal endowment/s...vision for the future both by the college and the very generous legacies that will be left by special alum/s.

"Enhanced year long nutrition?" Is that a training table? Do they have anything of that sort right now?

"Enhanced year long nutrition?" Is that a training table? Do they have anything of that sort right now? The school does not provide a training table currently. Not sure they provide a nutritionist either for the athletes. This could be a game changer for our athletes!!!

"Enhanced year long nutrition?" Is that a training table? Do they have anything of that sort right now? It might mean HC football players will become year round residential students at HC, with vacations obviously, and while nutrition is currently optimal, it will cost extra money to provide it year round. I think team bonding during the summer is good in the sense that all bonding is good, but the trick is to also allow student athletes to participate in the mainstream of college life at Holy Cross and still strive for elite success on the playing field. Perhaps more time working on football in the summer will allow more time to integrate with the rest of the student body during the academic year, which is a positive also.

Just read the post before mine. I didn't know HC doesn't currently provide a training table. So maybe nutrition is not currently optimal.

www.givecampus.com/schools/CollegeoftheHolyCross/fueling-the-momentum/?a=5114744#faqsI've been as big a fan of HC football as anyone for more than a half century now (egads!). And I've been putting my money where my mouth is as a regular financial contributor to the program for a long time now. So, this campaign is conceptually right up my alley. That being said, it's not clear to me what the long-term goal is as far as placement of HC in the college football universe goes. Stated differently, what specifically do we mean by "the next level"? Winning the PL on a regular basis? Doing well in the FCS playoffs? Something beyond the PL? If so, what? Or is this really all about retaining Chesney?

Great stuff. In over 30 yrs I haven't felt this good about the FB team, and haven't felt worse about the MBB team.

Is there any likelihood of an endowed football coach chair? Endowing a head coach's compensation of $350,000 would require about $8 million in endowment monies. Rough rule of thumb: $2,250,000 of endowment value would generate about $100,000 in an annual distribution (@ 4.5 percent)

Just read the post before mine. I didn't know HC doesn't currently provide a training table. So maybe nutrition is not currently optimal. Are you saying that Kimball stuffed chicken "footballs" and tire steaks are not optimal nutrition. Blasphemy.

"tire steaks"😄 probably on the menu the day after a tractor trailer loses a retread tire on Rte. 290.

This is about 20 years overdue.
The alumni with deep pockets are waking up....and that's a very good thing.
And a necessary thing.
