Chris had the best mid range game. Ed took more than Chris from inside, though Chris was tough there also.

Talking about Gates. His jump hook from 10 feet out on the baseline was the most difficult shot I have ever seen him hit. And at such a key moment. It reminded me a little bit of the kind of shot Ed Siudut (RIP) used to hit with incredible consistency. While Ed was a fine outside shooter, I think his touch around the basket might have been the best of any HC player I can remember. Growing up I learned to shoot that off the ear hook shot, and taught it to all my HS players..Easy Ed was the first player I knew who shot that thing ..I will always remember listening to the HC /UCLA game at Madison Sq. Garden, the crowd there had a very strange reaction to the first one Ed took from around the free throw line! Today that shot is a basic shot for bigs, but they shoot it as a jump hook, Ed shot it with footwork like a layup...

I just rewatched the 5th foul on Humphrey several times. I could not see him touch the shooter. That may be why he acted as he did when he heard the foul call against him. Lucky shot and what might have been a brutal foul call. Did any of you see that differently?

Think we might have him for one more year? Yes with RJJ and a crop of seasoned juniors. The large class of current sophomores is going to have a better conclusion to their HC career than the six man class of '20 that dwindled to just Butler and Faw and a 3-29 senior year. Keep the faith.

Bad call on Bubba, but man, can't put yourself in that situation. No need to challenge that shot.

Why did they pick the block that made the highlights when Kenney's was bettah!
If, and it's a big if; he can muscle up a bit and learn to score from close in, HC might have something there. He didn't have a high school season last year and for someone who supposedly didn't play basketball until age 14, that was a big setback. Has decent rebounding and block numbers.

And, RGS, that's why I posted about 3 pages ago:
He didn't come close to touching him and the video angle was excellent. Perhaps better than the look the ref had.

I did not see the play, but, as I tell all my teams, refs usually call what Look Like fouls from their angle. Many times they are not fouls. Was Humphrey near the shooter ?

Probably 6” but never touched the shooter. Doesn’t matter now .

6” is much too close in that situation

Apparently! But he did NOT foul the shooter.
Edit: Since a foul was called on him by the ref, I guess it was a foul. It was an incorrect call. That would be a more accurate statement.

What is this claim based on? 4 teams in the PL have double digit wins and all of them have far better, FAR more experienced rosters. But for a fun exercise, by process of elimination, lets hypothesize that Jones, Hardy, Allen, or Dechellis would get this HC roster to double digit wins. We have played 19 games. If you apply each of the above coaches career winning percentage while at their PL schools one (1) would be at double digit wins through 19 games. Joe Jones’ career .524 win percentage would put him at an expected 10.2 wins through 19 games. I don’t think Nelson has done a good job. I also think it’s crazy to expect him to be challenging for a PLC in year 3 with a team full of guys with little D1 experience. My comment about other coaches getting near double digit wins was for the season which would be a season with 9-12.wins— that includes OOC games would demonstrate some level of progress, building for the future,, and make a case for the team learning how to win games i am not sure 4-7 wins for the season will make the case We are getting dangerously close to 9-12 wins and demonstrating some progress….
