If one looks back at some first half posts, they look a bit silly now. YES, that is 3 in a row and all against D1 teams if that matters to anyone.
Absolutely! My posts about the non-syncing of the live stats and video really look silly in retrospect (I figured out my problem and fixed it) and, yes, 3 in a row is big, especially against D1 teams! (It's like 2 varsity teams playing each other rather than a varsity team playing a JV team).
Fantastic job by Luc...you can see his "experience."
This is so true! Little things, with 1:30 or so left in the game, Luc did a great job to get free to recieve a pass...He stopped and made the defender stop, then Luc popped out to easily recieve the ball. Early in the season he did not do this. He would have just floated out, and the defender would have been right there...Little things the team has learned..I think it was Townsell who had the ball on the wing and looked to pass the ball to a teammate at the top of the key. Malcom started to pass and then recognized the defender undercutting the passing land. Malcom held the ball, no steal for a layup! As a whole the team is solid on D, getting over the top of screens, making good switches, boxing out on rebounds, and getting to the ball...9 turnovers for the game...8 for 18 shooting 3's (44.4%),
Anyone continuing to deny significant progress for this program is just being a hater (and probably laid the points today, ha!).
Just stop this cr@p!! Winning three is a row is indeed progress. However, it is NOT "significant progress" over what we should have expected earlier in the year. And, who exactly are the "haters," hating? Holy Cross? The players? The coaches? Nelson? I'm guessing you feel it is hating Nelson. Thinking he was not a good choice or that he's not a great coach is not the same as hating him.
Speaking for myself, I'm extremely happy for all involved, especially the players and the coaches, and I hope they continue to play well and win. Many here have already stated, myself included, that if indeed there is significant progress (or words to that effect), we'll be happy to say so. And, that Coach Nelson should have at least the rest of the season to prove that he is a solid coach. Just keep winning. And no one is "a hater" here.
